The votes are in! A home brewing system, a book of puzzles and a 3D audio headphone processor are among our favorite projects this week.
Alchema Smart Homebrewer

The Alchema is a homebrewing appliance made specifically for craft cider. Add fruit, sugar, water, and yeast and then the Alchema will take care of the rest. The Alchema has a built-in UV-C LED sanitation light to prevent contamination and it will automatically monitor fermentation progress and notify you when the batch is ready. It can make ciders in 1-2 weeks, mead in a week, and wine in 16 weeks.
Codex Silenda

The Codex Silenda is the coolest book of puzzles that we’ve ever seen. It’s a five-page puzzle book hand crafted from laser-cut wood. The story follows an apprentice in Da Vinci’s workshop who has to finish the codex puzzles. They’re limiting the production run for the Kickstarter project to ensure that they can deliver rewards on time. Most of the pledge tiers are gone already but they have a waiting list!
Realiser A16

The Smythe Research Realiser A16 is a 3D audio headphone processor that can decode and render the latest 3D surround sound formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D to create an entire surround system in your headphones. With pledge levels around $1,000, the A16 will be hard to resist for serious audiophiles because the original Realiser A8 system retails for around $3,000.
IOFIT

How would you like a pair of golf shoes that have built-in pressure sensors that will help analyze your golf swing? The IOFIT Smart Shoes can detect how your weight shifts through each swing and it’ll automatically send the data to your smartphone via Bluetooth where the app will instantly analyze your swing, tell you what you’re doing wrong, and offer suggestions on how to fix it. Get ready to start learning from each swing.
Shoka Bell

The Shoka Bell can play 8 different pre-made or custom ringtones but it’s also a smart bell that can do a lot more. It can connect to your smartphone to display turn-by-turn navigation cues with its built-in LED lights. The Shoka’s clamp base also has a built-in motion alert system that will notify you if the base detects movement. The Shoka app also promises to provide you with the safest routes as it learns from users’ braking patterns and bell rings.
Ganker

The Ganker Robot is a personalized fighting robot that you can control with your smartphone. Each robot has multiple servo motors that let you control appendages allowing you to punch, kick, and swing weapons. You can customize your robot with different armor and weapon
Tracker Now

Tracker Now is a tiny GPS tracking device that you can use to track anything. Each tracker has built-in WiFi, Bluetooth, GSM, and GPS that will allow you the find the location of the tracker anywhere in the world using the Tracker Now app. You can also set up geo-fencing to be notified whenever a tracker leaves or a specific area to make it easy to keep tabs on children or pets. We can’t wait to start tracking our loved ones here in the office.
FenSens

FenSens is a parking sensor that replaces your license plate frame. The FenSense feeds data wirelessly to your smartphone app where it will show you how close you are to the car behind you and give you audio and vibration feedback to help you park. The FenSense can detect objects up to 10 feet away and can guide you to within 1 foot. If you have an older-model car and are tired of accidentally backing into things, the FenSense may be for you.
Peak Smart Lamp

The Peak Smart Lamp combines two things we love here at BackerKit: good habits and good lighting. The Peak lamp helps you make behavioral changes by becoming a visual reminder system. It lights up when you’re most likely to take action and when you touch the lamp it will send a message to get you to perform a task. After you finish the task, you get a celebratory light show to reinforce the habit.
LIFT

The Lift is a smartwatch charging station that levitates the watch while it charges. You can place your Apple Watch or Pebble on the charging base and watch it float in the air while it charges. You can also use the pad to charge your phone or pick up an optional Orb lamp that can float on the base while illuminating your room.
