Each month the BackerKit team pledges to a wide variety of cool crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter or Indiegogo. We thought it would be fun to share just a few of the many projects we supported last month.

THE MARIGOLD TAROT
Created by Amrit Brar

“This tarot deck from Canada-based artist Amrit Brar is rad. The cards feature black and white printing with gold ink exploring all things dead, decaying, and floral. The tier I backed comes with the tarot deck, a cool tarot cloth, and a limited edition enamel pin. I figured this would be the best way to celebrate the Halloween season.” -Jason Furie

CLOSCA BOTTLE + APP
Created by Gonzalo Gonzalez

“A sleek, elegant water bottle designed to change the way you find, carry and drink water. Its innovative silicone flap attaches to your backpack, bike or stroller making it the perfect fashionable accessory. The accompanying Closca Water App helps you locate places where you can refill your bottle for free.” –Lauren Salanitro

SLICE OF LIFE
Created by Julius Film

“A short film set in a cyberpunk dystopia about the conflict between a drug dealer and a corrupt cop. All of the props and sets are made out of physical models (as opposed to CGI) so it has a lot of the same analog 80’s feels as Blade Runner.” -Thomas Sleeth

2018 HOODCATS CALENDAR
Created by Adam Myatt (AKA The Cat Man of West Oakland)

“I’m always excited to back projects from local Bay Area creators, so I was stoked to find this calendar featuring the fine felines of Oakland. I know my co-workers (especially Anna W.) will be excited for me to put this up by my desk. Organization + cats = what could be better?” -Annie Clark

MAKING WAVES
Created by Midge Costin, Bobette Buster, and Karen Johnson

“I loved going to the movie theater when I was a kid and one of the main reasons was to experience the full quality sound effects. Sound in film is an under appreciated art, so I was super excited when I saw this project on Kickstarter. Seeing heavy hitters like George Lucas and Christopher Nolan involved with this documentary was a plus!” -Seun Omotunde

These were just a few of the many projects the team supported last month. We look forward to all the awesome new projects that will pop up next month and beyond!
