We head into our fifth week<\/strong> of crowdfunding pledges tracking above better than the average amount of pledges raised! Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, crowdfunding projects are still launching and backers are still pledging <\/span>well into the first week of May.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can see in the chart below the five sections of spikes in red (total number of pledges across all project categories) surpassing the dotted \u201cGoal\u201d line, which represents the average funds raised in 2019. Between each large red spike, there are small dips below the goal line, but these dips are normal and there is nothing to be alarmed by\u2014it is typical for pledges to dip as we head into the weekend, and pick back up during the weekday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The technology category (in teal) took a slight dip one day in the middle of April, which could be due to a creator cancelling their project or possibly creators extending their <\/span>Kickstarter project deadlines<\/span><\/a>\u2014but since then, the technology category has picked back up on backer pledges again.<\/span><\/p>\n
