The total amount pledged continues to trend at a steady pace since we\u2019ve started tracking the beginning of April.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The red line in the graph shows the total number of pledges raised across all project categories. The dotted \u201cGoal\u201d line is the average funds raised in 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Between each large red spike, there are small dips below the goal line which is typical for pledges to dip as we head into the weekend, and pick back up during the weekday. Overall, the dips have been getting more shallow as the year progresses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The few sharp dips below the x-axis are happening because sometimes campaigns switch project categories.\u2014you can see where there are downward dips, there is an inverse of the same size above the x-axis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18105 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-apr1-july5-1024x467.png\" alt=\"Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-apr1-july5\" width=\"1024\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-apr1-july5-1024x467.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-apr1-july5-300x137.png 300w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-apr1-july5-768x350.png 768w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-apr1-july5-1536x701.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-apr1-july5.png 1863w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three categories did particularly well in gathering backer pledges in the past several weeks:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/projects\/trending\/games\">Games<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(in blue) on June 17, with big projects like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/projects\/brotherwise\/overlord-a-boss-monster-adventure\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overlord: a Boss Monster Adventure live<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> having launched that week. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/projects\/trending\/design\">Design<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(in lime green) on June 30, with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/projects\/eaudespace\/what-does-outer-space-smell-like-nasa-designed-fragrance\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What does Outer Space smell like? NASA designed Fragrance.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> picking up steam around that time. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/projects\/trending\/technology\">Technology<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(in teal) did equally as well this past holiday weekend, with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/projects\/revoring\/revoring-a-variable-step-ring-for-your-camera-lens-filters\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">REVORING: A Variable Step Ring for your Camera Lens Filters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as one of the trending campaigns leading the way for July.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18104 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-june15-july5-1024x392.png\" alt=\"Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-june15-july5\" width=\"1024\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-june15-july5-1024x392.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-june15-july5-300x115.png 300w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-june15-july5-768x294.png 768w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-june15-july5-1536x588.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Coronavirus-Kickstarter-all-june15-july5-2048x784.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on these trends, it looks like it\u2019s still a great time to run a campaign.
