Instead of drawing the Decadence card when there's only one left in the deck or when somebody else ends the game, what if it were drawn and set aside at the start of the game? It seems to me this would have functionally the same effect, but would allow for the language in the rules to be simplified (IMO). You could even include an "Athenian Decadence" mat for setting that card aside, so people don't mistake that card on the table with something else and inadvertently look at it before they're supposed to. It could be something like this: Decadence At the start of the game, before drawing your initial hand, draw a card and set it aside face-down on the Athenian Decadence mat, without looking at it. Flip it face-up whenever you draw the last card of your deck or whenever the game ends, whichever happens first. At the end of the game, each of your revered temples with preference matching the preference of the card set aside on the Athenian Decadence mat is worth 5 points. (Faith would also have to be adjusted) Faith If there aren't enough cards left in the deck to discard for each revered temple, discard as many as you can. You choose which temples (and in what order) to perform the Faith effect for.
