Project Update: Spring Update for Lackadaisy!
Hello to our valued club members and thank you for your continued patience as we go careening through April! As you can see, our estimated release date for books has just whipped past us.
This is the biggest crowdfund that Iron Circus and White Squirrel, our indie comic distributor in the Pacific Northwest, has ever fulfilled. We are preparing to ship some 30,000+ Lackadaisy books to you all. This is immense for us. We are so grateful! But also, it's a logistical challenge!
You may have noticed that people who pre-ordered Lackadaisy Volume 1 from Amazon are already receiving their books, and we felt we ought to explain to you why this is the case. As soon as books arrived from the printer, Amazon was able to grab all of the copies they had reserved in one fell swoop and ship them in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, White Squirrel, who is fulfilling the book orders for the BackerKit crowdfund, is operating with a small staff and limited warehouse space. They've been a great and reliable distributor for Iron Circus comics in the past, and they are moving as fast as they can, but they simply can't keep pace with a behemoth corporation like Amazon. So, we ask for a little bit more of your patience on that front.
Also, we do want to assure you that you will be receiving all books you pledged for in one package -- Lackadaisy Volume 1, Lackadaisy Volume 2, and the Lackadaisy Essentials art book included. The latter two books are not slated for public release until late in 2024 and early 2025, so you will have them long before anyone is able to get their hands on them from Amazon or any other book retailers.
As a reminder, if you pledged for any physical Lackadaisy books, you also get the corresponding ebook! These are currently available for you to download in your digital rewards here on BackerKit. Click on your account PFP in the upper right corner of BackerKit > Your Pledges & Surveys > View Pledge > Under Survey, click View order > Get Your Digital Downloads
We've got a few other updates for you as well while you are here: firstly the Zib Plush!!Â
This is just a prototype for now, but we thought he was looking dapper enough (smoking habits aside) to show you how he's shaping up.
We've also been busy prototyping the Lackadaisy Card Game!
We still have some minor things to iron out here, like what material will be best to print the cards on (right now, we're testing vinyl), but it's getting close!

When we exceed $250k, the exclusive limited edition promotional The Terminator ashscan comics will be signed by one of the creators! Now your incredible collectible will also be autographed.
When we exceed $300k, all of our print backers will receive a free exclusive limited-edition copy of The Terminator #1 brand new series coming this fall. These exclusive comics will be limited to what is printed for the campaign and will be impossible to find elsewhere. While we can't reveal the creative team yet - this is one of Dynamite's big San Diego Comic Con reveals and you'll have one of the most limited editions being produced for supporting this campaign!
Please help us to unlock all these goodies for our backers by sharing the campaign with fans of The Terminator in your life. Every share gets us a little closer to unleashing some fantastic exclusive freebies for our awesome backers.Â

Heya let's summarise and be open here... - The campaign started without stretch goals but clearly stating they would come - Dynamite mentioned that they prefer to keep your own pace without revealing them - Terminator Resistance - Zero Day Exploit is NOT part of the current license(s) Dynamite has acquired. They asked... - Dynamite let us know that stretch goals are limited, supposedly limited to the comics that this campaign is about. - your break even point is around the 150K mark - a slipcase for the hardcover set might be a stretch goal or an add on depending on expected sales of the set of hard covers - oversized versions as stretch goal are being looked into - customs friendly shipping is being looked into - At this level (of funding?) it's unclear if the metal covers will ever make it into stores - a matte look(as opposed to uv spot finish?) is being looked into - nothing much has been confirmed (or denied) about the possibility of digital editions That's what I was able to find. Mind you: I'm on mobile and BackerKit is not the nicest platform on mobile so I may have missed one or two things.
Project Update: Books off to print, surveys with addresses + shipping payment due this week
Also, this week the surveys to collect shipping payment, addresses, and any extra last-minute add-ons you may want to buy will go out. Later today I'll be sending a smoke test to 4% of backers to check that the survey system is all good and works well, and in a couple days I'll be sending out the remaining surveys.
If you have any questions let me know!

Hello Dynamite, I received an email alerting me of a stretch goal for one of your other projects. What is troubling is I have not pledged to support that project and am concerned that by pledging to support the Terminator project, I am now going to be getting emails for unrelated projects that you run. For reference, here is a screenshot of the email in question: https://imgur.com/9RDgKYg Can you comment on this and/or your company stance regarding the protection and/or use of personally identifiable information (PII) of backers who have pledged to one or more of your projects?
