The month this campaign was going on was a wonderful time, the trivia, the community, the livestreams. I miss it.

I don't know if it mentioned somewhere on the project page that the slipcase exclusively fits the second printing. I have an original Kickstarter printing, and I thought this slip case would be a good way to keep the postmortem and the original printing together in the same place. How wrong I was, this slip case is not even close to big enough to fit my original copy of the book, let alone with the postmortem. If I had realized that my 1st edition would not fit in the slipcase, I would have ordered another copy to store in it, now I just have slip case with the postmortem floating around in it like a 5 year old wearing his dad's blue jeans. The only information I can find that indicates the slip case is only for the 2nd printing is the phrasing in the survey "The World of Warcraft Diary Slipcase 2nd printing", but I do not recall seeing any information about the dimensions of the printing being different than the first printing, all I see is: "The content between the first and second editions is identical" shame on me I guess for assuming that identical content would mean identical/compatible dimensions.

Anyone else with the first edition book discovering that the slip case doesn't fit?
Project Update: The Forging of the Sword Lumiere
How many of you have seen The Lord of the Rings movies directed by Peter Jackson?
A great many of you, I bet. If you are like me, you've seen them hundreds of times. And love them. From the faithfulness of the adaptation to its adult themes to its acting performances, dialog, and CGI. Jackson and his team managed to produce Tolkien movies that will withstand the test of time.
About a decade ago, when friend and author Terry Brooks began writing the climax story for his Shannara series, I wrote swordsmith Peter Lyon with a question. Peter produced the weapons used in The Lord of the Rings movies, and I asked him if the original Hildebrandt Bros. design for the Sword of Shannara could be produced as a congratulatory gift to Terry. While Peter informed me that the Hildebrandt design would be very difficult to produce and I decided on a different gift for Terry, Peter and I became online and email friends.
Then two years ago, when I was writing The King-Killing Queen, I received that book's cover art from artist Magali Villeneuve and absolutely fell in love with it. I also loved her design of the sword Lumiere so much that I forwarded it to Peter, hoping it was something that could be forged.
Peter wrote me back, asked some clarifying questions, and then accepted the project. He doesn't do a lot of commission work as Weta Workshop keeps him quite busy, so I was absolutely befuddled to learn The Lord of the Rings swordsmith would be forging a sword based on an idea I created.
Here is the Magali Villeneuve cover that inspired Peter's hand-drawn designs for Lumiere:
To view over a dozen photos of Peter's work as he forged and put together Lumiere, be sure to follow this BackerKit project. And if you already follow it, the photos should be below!
If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them. This process was super fun! A big thank you to Peter for his work and professionalism!Â

Hey Nolan, can you give an update on the status of things? Maybe answer questions these folks have asked? You know, the same folks that bought into this with you at the helm? There is absolutely no way you are not aware of these questions, and I dare you to say you are not aware of them because that would speak volumes in itself. I believe John has done his part and this is solely on Nolan Source Point Press now. I had to sign up for BackerKit because of this campaign here and now I get so much spam from this crappy website. I have tried unsubscribing from everything they send and I still get emails for new campaigns that I have supposedly "showed interest in" yet never heard of or would ever care about. Its ridiculous. Honestly, if you ever launch a campaign here again I just am not going to buy it, and ill be deleting my account here as soon as this campaign ends and items are received.
