I don't see any problem with creating a second edition. It totally makes sense for an incredibly popular 6 year old game. But what seems completely absurd is that anyone thought the right thing to do is market (and significantly hype) it towards people who are already fans of the game. Why not just quietly announce it and instead focus here on what's new? Surely anyone who had any interest in Gloomhaven bought it already, and this second edition is for people who haven't yet taken the plunge, and if so, why would they even be following this campaign? So it's like, you made a campaign that says, hey get excited, all that stuff you bought, we just redid it– wait why are you unhappy about this?
Some of the people bought Gloomhaven in the Frosthaven campaign and they just received the game these days. At least they could have been warned a V2 is coming so they knew about it as the designers knew it was in the works
