She is fashion. She is drama. She insists that wine counts as a fruit. And she's dead as a freakin' doornail!

She is WINE GHOST. Say hi!

...Sooo.

Y'know that girl you saw on Tinder? The one that made you audibly say, “wow,” and “yikes,” before you swiped left?

Well, she’s dead.

She died.

And Wine Ghost Goes to Hell is about what happened after she became her hometown's, shall we say, cautionary tale.

When Wine Ghost was alive, she was a booze-soaked train wreck. And now that she’s dead . . . well, to be honest, not a lot has changed. But when an old friend from her days among the living turns up in Hell unexpectedly, she's faced with a lot more responsibility—and self-reflection—than she's used to dealing with! Fortunately, if anyone knows how to handle life after death, it's Wine Ghost.

She learned the ins-and-outs of Hell a long time ago, but it's her pal's first days down in The Depths. And boy howdy, are they both in for a wild ride!

Want the deetz?

Wine Ghost Goes to Hell is a 90-page, full-color graphic novel! It’s 6" x 8.5," and we're dyeing the edges PINK, because goddammit, she's WORTH IT.

This skinny li'l slice of glamorous disaster is brought to you by none other than creator Sage Coffey, and Iron Circus Comics.

And hey, we figured, since we're already here and all... why stop at just a book?

If the mood strikes ya to double-up on the Wine Ghost goodness, we've got news for ya:  You can also snag a criminally fabulous Wine Ghost vinyl figure.

It's a 4-inch, soft vinyl figure with two parts! Her top half is milky-white, glow-in-the-dark vinyl, ensuring she's ALWAYS the center of attention, and the bottom is hot pink, translucent vinyl with glitter.

GLITTER.

She even comes with a tiny, vinyl resin wine glass, because of course she freakin' does.

NOW: let's talk a li'l bit about Wine Ghost's creator, Sage!

Sage Coffey is a trans, nonbinary cartoonist living in Chicago, Illinois! They have a passion for creating goofy and emotionally complicated creatures— something best highlighted in their work on the GLAAD-nominated video game, Bugsnax!

They've been featured in The New Yorker, The Washington Post, and served as an editor for the Sweaty Palms comics anthology. They've also contributed stories to multiple award-winning comic anthologies, including Comics for Choice and Be Gay, Do Comics. They love salmon (the fish, not the color). And Wine Ghost Goes to Hell is their FIRST graphic novel!

Interest properly piqued? You can find more of their work at sagecoffey.com!

And in case y'need more convincing: Praise for Sage’s Past and Current Work!

Bugsnax’s queer representation feels effortless, but I could tell that the creative team put plenty of care into their portrayal of queer and non-binary folks.

Coffey paces the comic beautifully.
Women Write about Comics, on Coffey's minicomic, If It Were Socially Acceptable

Coffey's mix of thin and thick line weights add to the sense of both exaggeration and nuance and goes well with the single-tone red that they use throughout.
High-Low review of the original Wine Ghost mini-comic that inspired the graphic novel

WINE GHOST GOES TO HELL is a blisteringly unique, psychedelic epic about running into your shitty ex in Hell, but it's also about friendship and self-confidence and an unstable real estate market. Sage's art is joyful in every line and a delicious multi-media collage that reminds me what comics can be.

WHY IS EVERYONE IN HELL SO HOT?! AND HOW CAN I GET THERE??
KC Green, bon vivant and cartoonist extraordinaire

Wine Ghost Goes to Hell expertly captures the queasy feeling of young adulthood, and the complicated ways that other people can influence our own sense of self. Sage Coffey is a powerhouse!

To add these add-ons to a pre-existing pledge, click your backer level! The page to add Add-Ons will show up before the pledge summary!

First up: We've got bookplates! For just $10, creator Sage Coffey will sign and personalize a bookplate to be included with your order of a physical copy of Wine Ghost Goes to Hell. They look like this, and will come un-applied, so YOU decide where to put it in your copy of the GN! This add-on will ONLY be available during the crowdfund, and since it will ship with your copy of Wine Ghost, there will be no additional S + H charge!

Next: Embroidered Patches! We've NEVER offered these on a crowdfund before!

Working with our old pals at True Metal Works, We'll be offering a 5" x 3" embroidered patch, suitable for bags, jackets, and wherever else you may see fit to stick it. Show the world that, if nothing else, you have the affection and admiration of your dead drunk pal in Hell. These will be $10!

And finally... our BIG REVEAL.

THE WINE GHOST BLACKLIGHT POSTER!

Lurid! Eye-searing! GLOWY. This 11" x 17" poster of Wine Ghost on the town features blacklight-reactive, fluorescent ink and velvety, black flocking. It is just so COOL, and we can't wait to get it made. For $25, it can be yours!

This is Iron Circus Comics' thirty-eighth crowdfunding project. Thirty-three of our previous projects have been fulfilled and completed, and the others are currently in process of being fulfilled by White Squirrel. This ain't our first rodeo!

We're aiming for a September release date. However, due to the current volatility of the global market, we can make no guarantee that rewards will ship by that date. But we'll do our absolute best! We have yet to fail to fulfill a crowdfund, and don't plan on breaking the streak!

Ebook editions of Wine Ghost Goes to Hell will be sent out roughly a month after the crowdfund concludes, and will be made available via Backerkit fulfillment.

Because of our pre-existing distribution contracts, there is a possibility of seeing these books in stores before receiving your rewards. This is out of our direct control, and we are continuing to work as hard as we can to ensure rewards will be shipped as close to the planned date as possible!

Thanks for understanding!

Edit

Please take note of the estimated shipping charges listed with the backer level you've selected, and understand shipping charges may change between the project and fulfillment.

During the fulfillment process, BackerKit will calculate any shipping that may be required when you fill out your delivery address. Shipping costs will not be assessed and billed until then! You are only being charged for your pledge amount at this time. We hope this helps to keep the cost of shipping down due to current fluctuations in domestic and international shipping costs.

Iron Circus Comics, BackerKit, and our fulfillment partners are not responsible for any VAT, duty, or customs charges any packages may incur.

BackerKit surveys will be sent once all books involved in this campaign have arrived at the warehouse of our fulfillment partner, White Squirrel. Our current estimate for shipping is Fall 2023. This estimate is subject to change.
