Pineapple may not be the most intuitive choice of ingredients to go on this deliciously savory vehicle known as the pizza slice, but above all I believe in the freedom of choice for all who construct their pizza slices. After all, this cheesy bread may be the greatest canvas in the foodie universe, and who am I to limit the creativity of imagineers so bold? As for my personal preference, I am a vote for "on special occasions, yes". It isn't my typical pizza slice, as there are plenty of great pizza options, some more in line perhaps with the founders of pizza-ville. However, I am a sucker for the classic Hawaiian slice when the mood strikes (on a warm summer night by the water, watching the sun go over the horizon and life feels sweet like a pineapple). One thing is for sure, that pineapple goes with that ham (itself a sweeter meat) like no other pair in the world.
