As we promised last week here is a first look at the sample box of Dungeon Doors.

This is a video update of our first "digital" sample. This is essentially hand made to make sure all the artwork and templates create the required finish, We're really pleased with how the doors came out!

In fact we're so pleased that I'm sure they'll be more videos and photos of lovely doors coming out in the next few updates.

We are going to make a couple of tweaks then we can green light the Mass Manufacture!

In case you don't watch the video the tweaks are we are adding a clear "lid" to the insert which holds the doors so they stay secure during shipping, and we are adding a note to the box as the doors will have a protective film on which can be removed before use. The film is slightly opaque so if you're wondering why the standees and bases aren't all completely clear its because they still have the protective film on.

We have now received our first samples from our factory!

Overall we're more than happy with how everything is coming along. Of course we have some tweaks and adjustments to make at this stage before mass production starts, but we are very nearly there!

So lets start off looking at maps.

Here is a first look at the map pack for this campaign. This is a Backerkit Crowdfunding exclusive, these maps are just for backers!

I hope you agree they are looking rather good, and while we have tweaks to make in other areas, we are happy and these maps are signed off and good to go to print!

We have a sample of the Big Box of Dungeon Doors itself, which we will be taking a very very close look at in the coming days. There are some tweaks and amends, but (spoiler!) the doors themselves are AMAZING and it is so close to being completely perfect! When we've finished our review of the sample we'll post another video update.

At this stage in the crowdfunding timeline we start to move away from being designers and move into being project managers! Once we have approved manufacture we move onto shipping plans, fulfilment schedules and all that good stuff, which frees Matt up to draw more maps.

And speaking of Maps, Matt has been busy drawing more dungeons ready for our next campaign, which will be coming to Kickstarter in June.

Immense Dungeons - Digital Maps for Discerning Game Masters will follow the same format as our previous digital Kickstarter, Beyond the Blue Nebula (except this time it's Dungeons!). There will be dozens of ready to roll digital maps, as well as huge tile sets to create your own layouts and tokens to furnish them.

We are delighted to announce we are expecting our sample for the complete Box of Dungeon Doors in the coming days! We will, of course, post a video when we have this sample.

This marks the end of the back and forth with the factory to make sure everything is exactly as we want it (thus far we have adjusted the box, increased the size of the standees by a few mm so we could get the artwork just a little larger once we allowed for the bleed and added a backing card so the completed box looks amazing!).

This sample will be the first of the completed box and standee set. Its a "digital proof", so essentially hand made, and we use it to check that everything is as we expect it to be based on the digital files. It is also our last chance to make any further adjustments to files & materials.

Once we sign off this sample the next step is the first mass production sample (to check the mass produced product is as expected based on the digital sample), and then its on to mass production!

We'll share an updated timeline when we have it, but we are very confident that this product will be with you before our initial delivery estimate of September.

Our news this week - 

We are going to print! We are working to finalize the print files with the factory and hope to have a full sample early next month to share with you!

We will be sending out the pledge manager survey next week! This also means the pre-order store will open so if you missed the campaign you can still get involved!

We now have all the artwork for the doors signed off. Our Artist James Hayball has been hard at work, and we're very happy with the results!

So without further ado here are all the doors!

Now we are past Chinese New Year we are working with the factory to sign off templates and create our first digital proof! This is when we do things like finalise the box design, design the insert, sign off the door sizes, artwork sizes and all those details! It is the stage which takes a lot of attention to detail but we're super excited to get you these doors!

Once we have all the i's dotted and t's crossed we'll have the first sample produced. Assuming all is well then we can greenlight the mass production!

Once we start printing we'll be able to share a more detailed timeline with you all.

We will start to work on the pledge manager once we have the templates signed off. Simply because we need to confirm how big the box is and how much it weights so we can work out the shipping for you all!

So watch out for updates over the next month and once we're there we'll share news of the pledge manager!

What happens now?
We have now received funds from Backerkit now your cards have been processed. So we're good to go!

It's currently Chinese New Year, so when the factory reopens at the end of the month we'll be finalising the artwork and templates and progressing with the first sample.

When we have confirmed box weight and size we'll be opening the pledge manager survey to collect shipping fees and addresses. This is also when you can add items onto your pledges.

We have officially funded and we will be making the Big Box of Dungeon Doors!

So now the excitement of the campaign is over what will happen now?

Firstly over the next 2 weeks your cards will be charged, If you have any issues please reach out and we can help.

I will leave the polls for the door designs open for another 10 days, then we will confirm the final door designs and commission the artwork. There will be no poll for extra door #8, we will choose our favourite "runner up" from the polls and use that design for the final door.

At the same time we will be talking to our manufacturer and finalising our plans. We will be able to let you have a timeline for manufacture, freight, shipping and delivery once we have finalised and signed off the pre production samples.

We will be updating regularly so you will know what is happening and when to expect your doors. 

This will be to gather your shipping information and confirm add-on purchases. 
(Please note those of you who added on extra items during the campaign - this will have added the extra funds into your pledge, you will need to add on the extra items you want in the pledge manager in order to receive them! This is a key difference from Kickstarter so we'll be highlighting this again when we launch the pledge manager).

We expect to open the pledge manager in the next 6 weeks once we have confirmed final product dimensions and shipping costs.
