Project Update: First Mass Production Copies π€© Molly House @ PAX Unplugged π ANNOUNCING HELL RAISERS βοΈ
Hello everyone!
Last week, just a few hours before Cole left for Thanksgiving, we received our first batch of MPC (Mass Production Copies) in Saint Paul. These are essentially the copies "first off the line." Usually we only get a single copy, which we use to check things like factory pack (how do they pack it before shipping it to our fulfillment centers) and double check any late-stage adjustments we made during the development process. I'm happy to report that the game passed with flying colors. We're really happy with how this one turned out.
We'll be posting more photos of the game in play soon, but we couldn't help sharing just a few now!

It's very atypical for us to receive more than one MPC since usually one is all we need to check the major questions. However, we knew the production was falling very close to Pax Unplugged, so we asked the factory to send us a few extra copies so that we could run all of our convention demos with the real deal!
Molly House @ PAX Unplugged
If you're in Philadelphia this week for Pax Unplugged, I hope you'll stop by booth #3445. We'll be running games of Molly House at the booth and at dedicated tables elsewhere in the hall. We'll have both of our previous games for sale along with metal coins and some pretty amazing merch that we've been working on secretly (Heck, not even Cole knew about it until recently!). Keep an eye on our social media for some fun reveals.
Announcing Our Next Project
Finally, in addition to Molly House, we'll be showing off our upcoming game Hell Raisers in Kanawha County.
Designed by Maltilda Simonsson (Turncoats, Pax Penning) and Luke Evison, Hell Raisers is a snappy, historical board game about the labor movement in West Virginia at the start of the 20th century for one to three players.
Play as a coal company operator seeking profit or as the labor movement demanding union recognition in this highly interactive game. Two company players compete by purchasing cards from a market and playing them into their company tableaus. Most cards place workers to dig at mines and thugs to keep them working. The labor player seeks to shut these sites down by organizing strikes that disable access to key company actions. Large, disruptive strikes may generate public outrage and catch the attention of newspapers, helping fuel the movement and garner the attention of prominent labor leaders like Mother Jones.
Featuring a dynamic Pax-style card play, terrifying dice rolls, and crunchy area majority tactics, Hell Raisers in Kanawha County feels right at home in our catalog of interactive historical games and will be our first foray into American history. The game also features development from Joe Schmidt, Drew, and creative direction (and some development) from Cole. We have had so much fun working on this game, and cannot wait to show it to you all.
If you'd like to learn more, you can sign up for the next campaign here.
Thanks as always to all our backers, and we are hoping to be done with mass production and assembly by the end of the year. Our update in January will include our shipping plan and some ETAs for delivery and final address confirmation lock dates by fulfillment region (as well as share photos from the convention). We'll also let folks know then we'll do an unboxing on stream and maybe pair it together with our annual Wehrlegig Year Ahead live stream we like to do. More on that next year!
