Publishing Goblin's Oracle Dice, 2nd Edition

Funded in just 2 1/2 hours!

Hello you amazing lovely wonderful incredible (and did I mention very very cool) people!

We did it in just barely 2 1/2 hours-- we broke the $50,000 funding goal!

As of this writing, we've blown past $60,000 as well! Thank you for joining Backerkit and your very thankful Publishing Goblin with your support on this new platform's journey! Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing the newly updated dice faces for the original set of 14, the stone choices for the stone dice set, more and more art of the Lords, the new reading grid that will be on the reverse side of your reading cloth, and more!

For right now, I can answer a few questions I've been asked:
  1. You can update your pledge at any time, it won't change the date you pledged or cheat you of the free 21-Lord Oracle.
  2. The 21-Lord Oracle will feature all 21 Lords of the dice, as illustrated by czarfunkle.
  3. The Lord's Print Set currently features just the 7 prints it says on the tier it has, but as stretch goals unlock more prints, they will be automatically added to the print sets, no extra cost.
  4. Shipping will be charged post-campaign as per usual with Backerkit stuff, and you can see estimated shipping prices on the campaign page.
  5. Stretch goals will have their amounts revealed soon. I was suggested to wait until I saw how our momentum was going, and good thing I did! You have all knocked this far far out of the park!
  6. The dice are 16mm and are engraved.
  7. The dice in the original set that are receiving changes beyond just some updated symbol graphics are:
    1. Action Die is having Harmony become Raze.
    2. Autumn Die is having Blood become Stores.
    3. Fate Die is becoming the Gambler's Fate Die, and every face is changing. If you have the old one from the original set, you can use it as it used to be, but know the new one is utterly different.
    4. Obstacles Die is having Inner become Yet to Come and Outer become Emergence.
    5. Spring Die is having Wheel become Whimsy, as Wheel is moving to the Gambler's Die with the Roulette.
    6. Winter Die is having Obstacle/Wall become Snow (which will have the meaning Frost used to have, Frost is now about lack of mobility, frozen in place,) and Isolation become Memento.

And that's all for now! Oh wait, I think... yes, she's coming around the bend now. There she is, laughing in the heat of the intense sun and just a bit day-drunk, the Crone of Summer! Thanks again to czarfunkle for these incredible Lords illustrations! Look out for the Youth of Spring sometime soon!

If you are so moved, please copy the header image of the campaign and share it around to friends and family on social media, using this link! Let's see how far we can take day 1-- I think we can outdo the Alleyman's!

Fondest and most thankful regards,
your Publishing Goblin

Huh... I'm actually really curious. Is there a particular reason why the Fate Die is becoming the Gambler's Fate Die and not simply just having a separate die be made for them both instead? It seems a bit strange to just completely re-do one instead of let that one be and make this other one a new one. This isn't to critique it, I'm just genuinely curious, though I suppose there's also a part of me that is sad cuz I was never able to GET the original set, and it feels like I missed something. :< For those of us who didn't get to get in on the first set, I don't suppose there'll be a PDF or something to see the old one, and what it used to be like before the change, is there? No worries if not, but like I said, I'm just super interested and curious 'bout this! Still, can't wait to see more of this going forward!

Hey Codo! To be honest, I felt like the Fate Die the way it was originally was super gimicky and it didn't contribute much to readings. For people who got used to it and liked it in the original, they can keep it around and use it as it was, but for people who didnt get the original, you're not missing anything. It would make you reroll dice or remove the nearest die or move dice around, and it always felt more like a game to me than a part of the oracle set. I liked it in concept but in practice it never felt right, so I almost always remove it from my reading pool. As a result, it felt not worth keeping in its current form. Now it will be a proper part of the set, with each face having a unique meaning, not just moving dice around. I promise this will allow it to be a more active piece of a reading, rather than like, removing a die from the reading which just removes parts of the nuance of a reading, and since it's all it did itself, it was basically ANOTHER removed die. Just not fulfilling the way I wanted it to be.

I can't seem to reply -directly- to yer own response, but I hope ya see this still: I can understand it if it felt a bit out of place then to do so. Admittedly, I feel like that'd actually in itself be part of a reading, like if it removed something, that it could mean something transitive in nature, like a missed opportunity, or that if it moved a die, that it means that there could mean something akin to "hidden connections" between the meaning... Buuuuut I also don't know how the actual reading process with the dice go, since I don't have the set or book to reference and can only go off of what I can see. D: Either way, fully understandable, and I look forward to seeing what it the revised die will be like!

I'll ask people how they feel about it in an update when I reveal the new Gambler's die. If people want I'd consider renaming the fate die to the Chaos Die and revising it a little but keeping its function as little annoyance haha.

I love how you added Lords to the dice and gave them a face/personality! And woooow that art is gorgeous! I look forward to these dice, pick random dice from the pouch and see who has which answers to my questions. Hope this campaign will be a massice success for you + the artists + backerkit!

love the art! has the oracle deck back been finalized yet? and will the lords oracle deck and the die face deck have the same backs?

The back hasn't been finalized yet, but it will be somewhat similar to the frames on the Lords. Yep, they'll have the same backs!

I added $45 to my $70 Dice and Box set - that would cover the dice deck of $30 and probably shipping of about $15 once the campaign ends - that's how that works, right? Rather than select add-ons during the campaign, we just add the amount to our pledge and then make selections afterward?

You got it! : )

Look at you go, Goblin! I am so excited to participate in your continuing success. The AT exceeded all expectations and was well worth the wait. Your Oracle Dice will be a welcome addition to my growing collection of divination tools. It's going to be fun seeing how many backers this campaign receives! ❤️

I identify with the Summer Crone so hard. I might have to get the prints just for her.

Isn't she just freakin' delightful??
