BackerKit FAQ

How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.

To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.

All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.

Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.

Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.

What happens after the campaign is over?

The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.

The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.

Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

Project FAQ

How do I get to the Pledge Manager now that the campaign is over?

Now that the campaign is over, you can manage your pledge in the BackerKit Pledge Manager: http://rtdt-2.backerkit.com Or https://www.backerkit.com/c/users/active_projects Your direct link to your survey should have been emailed to you. If you have not received it, be sure to check your spam folders and add backerkit.com or [email protected] to your approved senders.

Are the stretch goals from the first campaign available/included?

All of the stretch goals from the first campaign are already incorporated into the game. There are no separate stretch goals.

How do I know if I'm getting the sign-up bonus advantage trackers?

There was a special sign-up on BackerKit for the advantage trackers, sent out to prior email list members, posted on social media, and generally publicized. We will match backers using their BackerKit email against that list. If you signed up for the trackers and back for at least one item offered in the campaign, you will receive the trackers for free, and they will automatically show up as part of your pledge in the pledge manager after the campaign is over. Alternatively, they will be available as an add-on for $5 in the pledge manager and are part of the Coffers 2 add-on in plastic. If you are unsure of whether or not you are receiving the trackers, please wait until the pledge manager opens, and we will resolve the issue at that time.

Are there any rules changes in the 2nd printing of the base game? How can I get a copy of the new rulebook?

There is only one substantive rules change. When a fourth skull would be placed on a building, the building is destroyed, and all four skulls are removed from the game. In the prior version, the fourth skull was returned to the supply. In practice, very few games were ending in a loss as a result of the skull supply running out, and this simplifies the general rule. Other than that, we corrected a typo and clarified some existing rules. The new version of the rulebook will be available to download in pdf format, and the substantive rule change will appear in the Covenant rulebook.

Shipping and VAT clarifications

As indicated on the shipping chart, some regions have VAT included in their shipping charges. For the following regions, VAT is included in the line that only shows as Shipping on the pledge manager. United Kingdom (UK) European Union - Austria (AT), Belgium (BE), Bulgaria (BG), Croatia (HR), Cyprus (CY), Czech (CZ), Denmark (DK), Estonia (EE), Finland (FI), France (Fr), Germany (DE), Greece (GR), Hungary (HU), Ireland (IE), Italy (IT), Latvia (LV), Lithuania (LT), Luxembourg (LU), Malta (MT), Netherlands (NL), Poland (PL), Portugal (PT), Romania (RO), Slovakia (SK), Slovenia (SI), Spain (ES), Sweden (SE)

Is there a playthrough of the Covenant expansion in action?

We are working on scheduling a playthrough for some time during the campaign. We'll keep you posted.

What is the refund policy?

You can cancel for a full refund at any time prior to the end of the campaign. After the campaign ends but before shipping starts, you can cancel your order for a 75% refund, which reflects the amounts taken by the various service providers and the additional expense we will incur in shipping the items you ordered to our warehouse for alternate use. We cannot promise a refund after shipping starts but will consider on a case-by-case basis.

When will the game be delivered?

Crowdfunding campaigns are notorious for fulfilling later than promised. Our last campaign was no exception, but we feel like a global pandemic was a pretty good excuse. That said, we are building in a very big buffer so we can avoid that in this campaign. We expect fulfillment to commence no later than July of 2023.
