How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
Can I add add-ons in BackerKit?
Want to add add-ons now? Great! You can increase the amount of your pledge by the amount of the add-ons you wish to add in the pledge confirmation screen if you want to account for the funds now, or you can wait to add them and be charged later in the pledge manager after the campaign is over.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Can I play ink if I want to make a new character or if I have never played an RPG before?
Yes absolutely! The book has a section that can help you roll up a brand new character so anyone can play regardless of their prior experience with TTRPGs
How many adventures are included in the game book?
Well...unlimited really. ink features an adventure generation system so GMs can roll up as many unique adventures in the world of ink as they would like.
How can I get the custom coffee blends?
The Deluxe Boorista Box comes with both 12 oz coffee blends right with your box. If you don't back at the Boorista Box level, you may be able to purchase coffee from us at in-person conventions including Origins and Gen Con in 2023. The coffee will not be available as an add-on or otherwise online.
If I order the PDF version of the game, will I also get access to the ink cards and tokens accessories?
Yes, the cards and tokens will be included as a print and play file that you will receive when you get the ink PDF. This applies to both PDF and Book tier backers.
Do you need the box set dice, cards, and tokens to play?
No. The game can be played with any set of D6 dice. The cards and tokens make playing ink easier but are not required in order to play the game.
When can I expect to get my game?
We recommend that you take a peek at our timeline graphic on the main campaign page. If any delays pop up, we will be letting backers know via email, so be sure to read updates when they go out!
What do I do if there is something wrong with my items when they arrive?
Things can get bumped around in shipping! Please take photos of the problem and email us at firstname.lastname@example.org right away. Please note that glass dice are quite fragile, so please be gentle with them once they arrive.
Can I change my shipping address?
Yes! You will be able to change your address in BackerKit. If you need to change your address AFTER the pledge manager has been locked, just send an email to email@example.com to make any needed changes.
How often will we receive updates?
You may receive quite a few while the campaign is live! After that, expect monthly updates and special updates when there are exciting things to share!
Why is tax and shipping charged later?
Charging shipping and taxes during the pledge manager phase allows backers to make any changes to their pledges that they want, like adding extra items or upgrading to a new level. This also helps us ensure that we get the best pricing for shipping for our backers. We did include a shipping chart based on current shipping fees to give you a general idea of what you may be charged when shipping and tax is collected, but keep in mind that the current state of global affairs means that shipping prices can and do change suddenly.
The PDFs have been sent out, but I didn't get mine.

Should I treat glass dice differently than plastic dice?
Glass dice are a higher end product than plastic dice and should be treated a little differently. We suggest that you roll your new set of glass dice on something soft, such as a dice mat, and that you avoid dropping dice off of the table or from other high places. Glass dice can chip and crack if impacted too hard. If your dice fall and crack, please be careful to watch for any chipped glass. If you need to dispose of broken dice at any time, please choose to recycle them.
