This project is to bring the main character of my picture book, Rose the owl, to life with an 8 inch cuddly soft, huggable plush. Help me reach my goal to donate 75 Rose the owl plushies to children with Moebius syndrome at the upcoming medical conference - providing them a comforting cuddle to bring with them to doctors' appointments and hospital stays.
I am a disabled therapist & educator and believe everyone deserves seeing themselves represented in the books and toys around them. Rose the owl represents an eye condition called Duane syndrome where you are not able to abduct your eyes. This lack of eye abduction is a piece of my daughter's larger Moebius syndrome diagnosis.

Why Me, Mama? A triple award winning picture book was funded through a 23K Kickstarter Campaign in 2022, and we have been able to donate over 500 copies to children with disabilities worldwide. Rose the owl is the main character in an ongoing series where everyone has something, sometimes you see it and sometimes you don't. Why Me, Mama? is also available as an add on in this campaign and as a set of the book and plush together.
Why an owl, you wonder?
OWLs also do not abduct their eyes, they turn their head to see. Just like Rose!
