Howbeit, the carnival has a sinister side. A small fraction of the visitors disappear, never to be seen again. And there's a reason: some carnival staff kidnap them and devour their souls.
Whenever a person disappears, all traces of their existence vanish as if they never existed, even forgotten by people who have known them all their lives.
