LOTF coming... soon?

Hello all,

I'll start with a brief introduction about myself. My name is Heathcliff Blythe and I'm a 20 year old American "student" living abroad in Germany. I'm transgender, bisexual, and have witnessed unfathomable amounts of intersectional suffering throughout my lifetime, and it led to me drafting a book about international war at 14 years old. Now I am 20, and I believe it's time for my book to come into the world: a romance novel about a civil war in America in the year "203X."

Why romance? I think that latching onto fictional characters is something that we have all done at least once in our lives. I'm a huge romantic - some may say hopeless.

My original plea was this: I think it's unfair that I am 20 years old and I have still never been kissed!

From a young age, I started to project my romantic dreams and wishes on my various original characters. As I grew up, the complexity of suffering intertwined more in my life and the story got darker and bloodier. Now I believe I have invented a story that is truly unique.

But my dilemma was always this: I'm afraid to show the world this story, it feels too bleak. I feel that by writing about war, I am inherently promoting suffering. Similar to the reason of Kafka begging for his manuscripts to be burned after his death.

But I am choosing to stand in the face of a whole lot of possible disapproval from the world to publish this story. I have decided that it is much, much more important to me for my voice, small as it is, to be heard by as many people as possible. I am not going to wait for my passing to let this book be published. I am going to write it - it should hopefully be finished in 2025. And I want it to be written with a serious urgency, because I want its proceeds to go back directly to the world: to save our climate, alleviate homelessness, to help local communities, to feed the hungry, to support our youth, and to help people displaced by war.

I believe the best way to do so is by showing Americans a glimpse of a future that may be closer to their imagination than they believe. But it is not for anyone to lose hope. In my eyes, the entire book is about hope and love.

For my first update, as soon as I can go live (I'm currently waiting on the green light from Kickstarter, and of course approval from Backerkit) I'll be posting the first segment of my novel with something small attached called my "Manifesto of Love", as well as an audiofile recording of it.

I'm quite scared to put this story out there. But I hope you all love it just as much as I do.

The tiers I have planned are this:
For 1 euro, anyone in the world can add their name to the credits/dedication.
For 2 euros, they will receive a PDF/EPUB file of the e-book.
For 3 euros, they will receive an audiobook file in addition to the e-book.

The world has given me so much, and now I wish to give as much as I can back to the world while ultimately trying to cost it as little as possible.

XOXO Heathcliff
