My name's Abdulazeez Al-Refai, writer, animation director and producer. I'm thrilled to invite you on a remarkable journey to bring GRIT to life. It's a tale of adventure, the unbreakable bonds of family, and the universal quest for belonging.

Inspiration and Theme
This project springs from a journey marked by love, loss, and an unwavering resilience that has profoundly shaped my life. At its heart, GRIT celebrates the power of parental love—the kind of fierce, unconditional support that lights our way as we find our place in the world. It's a story inspired by my own experiences, traveling from the depths of sorrow to the heights of joyous renewal, mirrored in the unbreakable bonds between our characters.

Synopsis
GRIT tells the story of Farah, an Arabian mare grappling with memory loss after a desert accident. Her quest for self-discovery ignites when she befriends a witty falcon, both on a journey to find where they belong. Meanwhile, Noor, a determined young Bedouin woman, alongside her father, embarks on a quest to find Farah, her cherished horse she was compelled to release. Their paths cross at an auction held by a merciless merchant, where Farah and Noor’s fate depends on difficult decisions that test their resolve and force them to weigh their own needs against the power of love and the importance of sacrifice.

Coming This September

My team and I are on a mission to bring the first chapter of GRIT to life with a detailed Storyboard and Animatic (a video version of the storyboard) for a full 90 minute feature film, laying the foundational visuals and emotions that will guide the film’s entire production. This crucial step is where the heart of our story begins to beat, and where your support becomes the lifeblood of our vision.
