My passion for history began in my teenage years and has grown into a lifelong fascination with ancient civilizations, mythologies, and the history of religions worldwide. Inspired by this journey, I’ve channeled my love for storytelling and strategy into creating immersive tabletop games that bring the myths and legends of the past to life. At NeoAntica, I believe in the power of history to connect, inspire, and educate. My motto is: “Learn from the past, live in the present, and think about the future.”

I’m an independent game designer with a background in creative production and small business ownership. My kids created a game during the 2020 pandemic and it took us 5 years to develop it through play and turn it into something we could more easily share with others.

Our dreamy collection of sleep stories are there to help you drift off in a haze of happiness at bedtime. 

Our Story Good Idea Games is a family company run by a husband and wife team. Paul and Hannah were married in 2013 and share a love of gaming that eventually led them to turn their passion into a business. Paul designs the games and develops them together with Hannah and their two kids, ages 7 and 9. When the rules and mechanics are complete and polished through playtesting, Hannah does graphic design and runs the business side of the company. Our mission is to bring joy to gamers worldwide with games that are fun, accessible, and strategically challenging. Since our foundation in the spring of 2024, we’ve designed and begun development on over two dozen games, recruited playtesters and developers, and hosted in-person playtesting events at the Well-Played Board Game Cafe in downtown Asheville. We’re building momentum with our first Kickstarter and subsequent retail sales, and plan to continue putting out new games as fast as we can – while still taking the time to develop and polish our ideas to bring you the best gaming experience possible. Hurricane Helene In October 2024, Hurricane Helene devastated our hometown of North Carolina, along with much of the surrounding Appalachian region. We had to cancel our playtesting & events, and spent a month out of our house traveling between family and short-term rentals as we waited for basic services in our area to be restored, and damage to our house to be repaired. Now that we’re getting settled again, Good Idea Games is ready to come back stronger than ever, and re-focus on our mission of spreading joy to gamers worldwide.

Meet Abby Shea. Abby was born with a condition, other than being a fiery tempered red head, called Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum (ACC). This is a rare brain defect the affects the band of tissue that connects the left and right sides of the brain. Abby is unable to walk, talk, feed herself, brush her hair, or any other task that a teenager is capable of doing.  The Abby Shea Project is a non-profit organization with the idea of creating, manufacture, and distributing equipment to help families like ours. We are fortunate enough to have friends and family that can donate their time to carry this venture along, but we do not have the funding. With your help, we can begin our process of developing our first piece of equipment, establishing a manufacturing process, and helping others.
