BILL & TED, the cult‑classic movie franchise starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, launches a new video game for PC and consoles, with the stars' voices returning for this new adventure!

Art Of Play Interactive and Roditeli Productions are teaming up with Infame MKT and Creative Licensing Corporation to adapt the classic adventure-comedy film Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure™ into a video game. For the first time in over 30 years, the two iconic heroes are entering the gaming world with BILL & TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE™ ARCADE.

The video game will launch on BACKERKIT in early 2027, aiming to fund development through exclusive merchandise, apparel, digital and physical copies, and additional surprises. This marks the largest simultaneous launch of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure™ products to date.

We invite fans and players to support this campaign, bring this game to life, and get exclusive content for their preferred platforms: PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The campaign celebrates the beloved film that has resonated across generations.

The game offers fans a new way to experience the movie, in the vein of the super-successful Terminator 2D: NO FATE, released last year. Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure™ Arcade lets players re-experience the fan-favorite scene from the movie by playing as Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves), with the option to play in co-op mode with a friend. As Abraham Lincoln said in the original 1989 sci-fi comedy, players will have a chance to "Be excellent to each other".

To add a cherry on top of the sundae, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter's pixel-art version of themselves will have their voice!

If you're unfamiliar with the movie, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure™ is a sci-fi comedy about two lovable yet dim-witted heavy metal slackers, Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves). They face the prospect of failing their high school history class, risking their band breaking up, and Ted being sent to military school in Alaska. A futuristic guide named Rufus (George Carlin) gives them a time-traveling phone booth. The video game follows the same story and structure as the movie, with new twists and mechanics to deliver the ultimate experience of this Excellent Adventure.

The heavy task of retelling the most beloved sci-fi comedy film of all time in video game form is in great hands. The project is developed and co-produced by Art of Play Interactive, an Australian studio headed by Ash Nicholls that has been active for over 15 years, developing games based on major brands like Transformers, SpongeBob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Spider-Man, before pivoting to self-producing console games. That adventure started with the adaptation of the classic comic book The Phantom, released in 2025, and now Lady Death, set to release later this month on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Completing our Excellent team are producers Kevin Roditeli and Roditeli Productions, behind the revival of another 90s cult franchise, like POSTAL and SWAT Kats, whose comics broke the record for the biggest single-issue comic of all time, and Infâme MKT, aka producer Isaac Tremblay, whose work contributions include the worldwide viral music sensation Angine De Poitrine.
