Pin Quest launching tomorrow - here‘s everything you need to know!
Hello everyone! I hope you‘re all excited and ready for Pin Quest. Here‘s a bit of info ahead of time so you don‘t have to digest so much info on launch day when alllll the Pin Quest campaigns are launching :D
1. No stretch goal designs this time, all pins unlocked instantly
A change compared to my previous campaign is that the initial 8 designs are all there‘ll be, and they‘ll be instantly unlocked. The reason for that is that I want to take away the „my favourite design is still locked“-anxiety for backers (and for myself lol), and usually when I make a design, I want to make it anyways even if it means paying out of pocket.
2. Crowdfunding - Pledge now, pay at the end
This point is for those of you who are still new to crowdfunding. With Backerkit, you don‘t pay anything until the campaign ends, and only if the campaign funding is successful. Between your pledge and the campaign end, you can change or cancel anytime. The initial payment covers the merchandise cost, and once the production is finished the shipping cost is charged. You can also add stuff to your campaign pledge in the survey after the campaign and pay that together with the shipping. This also means: you have no disadvantages if you back early - you still only pay at the end, and you will be eligible for the early bird sticker reward!
3. The stretch goals is a freebie this time
I mentioned not making unlockable stretch goal designs… but it doesn‘t mean we don‘t have stretch goals at all. This time I want to give back something when we hit high numbers, and it‘s a free pin. If you‘ve missed the poll: this adorable black kitty on catnip won the poll will be given out - to everyone if we do well, and to the higher tiers if we do so-so :D Other color variants of this kitty are the unlockable post-campaign add-ons that I mentioned above!
4. One size, one price tag
All pins are the same size this time. No minis, no jumbos, no complicated calculations on which add-ons and which pledge tiers together are the cheapest way of obtaining a combination of differently priced pins :D Just count the number of pins that you want to buy and just pledge that.
5. The only campaign add-ons are stickers
In the same spirit: we‘ll have two sticker packs, with the flowers and the ink bottles respectively, and that‘s all for add-ons. (Can you tell I am desperately trying to keep a campaign simple for once?? :D)
6. Don‘t forget the cross collaborations
And yes, we do partner with Mad Child Soul again this time.

7. Pins and Poetry
And since this is pin quest - and a continuation of my first Floral Mythology project - we have a special focus on storytelling. I‘ve commissioned Lorian Ain‘dal to write some dark, deadly poems to go with these flowers. Each flower pin will come with the poem on the backing card just for that little extra flair and because writers deserve some love!

The winner is... the black kitty!
But! The results were close, and the Calico cat was one (1) vote less than the black cat. And even the least popular option, the orange one, has half as many vote as the most popular, which is a more even distribution than I thought this poll would yield. So this is a sign for me to try to get them all made!
The black cat will be the freebie, but given the interest in all the cats, I will put them all as unlockables in the post-campaign shop once it‘s over. The calico cat will get a special „almost won the poll“ discount :D

Welcome to the Witch Garden! Freebies + Choose your cat for your garden
Hello everyone and welcome to the first pre-launch update of Witch‘s Garden! As you may know by now, the main pin designs will be about poisonous flowers and herbs from the nightshade family, but surely that‘s not all a witch can grow. So I‘m here today to introduce you to the campaign promos.
(You didn‘t really think this would be a cat-less campaign, did you??) I‘m in a bit of a twist, I made five variants of the freebie and can‘t decide! I need you to help me out :D
… new this time! This time I want to try moving the pin freebies to something else than Early Bird / Returning Backer. In the past, you‘ve gotten a mini pin for each incentive, this time I want to try just giving out one more detailed, intricate full size pin instead, and make it a tiered stretch goal so that higher tier pledges get it first, but if we hit big numbers then I‘ll be happy to give it out to everyone.
How this will work is that if the campaign hits 3k, the highest tiers will get it for free, but if we hit 10k, eeeevery pin backer will get it, and some stops inbetween. Also if there‘s a close second/third, mayyyybe some other variants will make it to the post-campaign shop! (Or maybe we have to do all of them haha)
2. Pin Quest Group Collab - Botanist‘s Journal
As you may know, this project is part of Pin Quest, where many pin makers run campaigns at the same time and collaborate on a theme. Each participating campaign will give you a free pin if you back at least 3 campaigns. Here you can get this cute little fountain pen and journal combo as a mini pin!
3. Cross Collaboration - Oleander Honey
And as usual I‘m teaming up with Mad Child Soul Art. (Check their campaign if you haven‘t) if you back their campaign and mine, you get this jar of very cute but unfortunately poisonous honey.
4. Early Bird & Returning Backer: stickers
And of course I still want to reward anyone who has been loyal to my campaigns and everyone who will back early! This time it‘s stickers - as usual they‘re fully waterproof and can go inside or outside, or in the dishwasher!
I hope these incentives get you excited for the campaign. I know it‘s a bit of a change compared to the usual structure, but I hope this is a good compromise for everyone. Giving out up to 3-4 pins on a one-pin pledge is something I can only afford if the campaign hits high numbers, and in the past I‘ve just gambled on that fact while this time I‘m setting them as real guardrails, especially since this campaign is expected to run a bit smaller compared to cat-themed ones. 🙏
Welcome to Floral Mythology Pt 2 - Witch‘s Garden! This is both a fresh new project and a continuation from a theme I did as theme before - flowers with a story!
This time the focus is on folktales about witches. Specifically, their connection to the fascinating family of Nightshade Flowers which are highly poisonous, psychoactive, and were said to be used in black magic. Famously, all of these were said to be used in flying ointments, the stuff that makes witches fly! If this topic interests you, please do follow this page for updates as I am still working actively on the campaign and will announce new things (goal structure, freebies, etc).
Like last time, I‘m commissioning a short poem about each of the flowers, and each pin will be shipped with a card with the poem.
And because this is part of Pin Quest, an event all about stories and folktales, each flower comes with a second pin design where it‘s turned into a (probably very poisonous) ink to write very evil spells with :D
