If I Were You - A 2 Player Conversational TTRPG
There are conversations we never get to have.
Things we wish we could explain better.
Words we rehearse long after the moment has passed.
In If I Were You, two people find themselves connected across time through a fragile, impossible channel. One is living before the consequences. The other is living inside them. They cannot see each other. They cannot meet. All they have is the conversation.
They talk.
They hesitate.
They misunderstand.
They reveal too much, or not enough.
There is no shared goal. No promise of closure. The relationship between them is not defined at the start. It may deepen. It may fracture. It may never become clear at all. What matters is not where the conversation leads, but what happens while it exists.
The game unfolds entirely through dialogue, guided by prompt cards, interruptions, and subtle shifts in tone. Players explore tension, projection, miscommunication, and the fragile attempt to understand another person when full understanding is impossible.
As the conversarion evolves, prompt cards and interruptions guide the conversation toward moments of tension, revelation, avoidance, and misunderstanding. The game creates space for emotional realism rather than structured storytelling, allowing meaning to emerge naturally rather than forcing narrative beats.
Each session becomes its own quiet, intimate experience shaped entirely by the players and the conversation they create together.
If I Were You is not about winning.
It’s about staying in the moment long enough to see what the conversation reveals.
