THE LAST INSCRIPTION

A Solo Decipherment Mystery RPG

An expedition has uncovered fragments of a writing system no one can read.

The site will not stay open forever, and you have limited time to make sense of what was found.

In The Last Inscription, you study fragments, compare recurring symbols, follow clues, test possible meanings, and slowly build your own understanding of the lost script.

What interests me most about this idea is the feeling of starting with something completely unreadable and gradually realizing that the symbols are beginning to make sense.

This is not meant to be a game where you simply draw a prompt and write a response. I want the discoveries you make to affect what you understand, which clues you trust, and what conclusions you eventually reach.

The game is being designed for solo play and a simple setup. You’ll need the game, a normal deck of playing cards, something to write with, and an investigation sheet or paper.

If you enjoy mysteries, codes, archaeology, lost languages, deduction, or solo tabletop games, this is being made with that kind of experience in mind.

The Last Inscription is still in development. I’m currently working through the rules, decipherment system, cases, balance, and physical format before the final campaign launches.

Following the project now means you can see how it develops and be notified when the campaign goes live.

At the beginning, the inscription is unreadable.

By the end, hopefully, you’ll understand what everyone else has forgotten.
