β¨π Something sweet is bubbling π«β¨ New Collection coming soon!
Hello everyone, hope all is well
We will be participating in this year's Pintober, running from Oct 20 to Nov 5.
I'm happy to present the new collection: The Bubbling Cauldron: Magical Jams and Jellies
π The Backstory I drew a set of illustrations a while back; they were actually the start of another collection: The Order of Apotheca. But they felt more witchy than the Apothecary/Alchemy vibe I was creating. So I decided to set them aside, knowing I would make them their own thing someday.
Fast forward to the announcement of this year's Pintober, the event they were perfect for. This was their moment!
Even though I knew they were perfect for this, I still felt like they were missing something. I wasn't seeing the story behind the collection, and that made it feel incomplete; I wasn't as excited as I would like to be.
π« And then it all came together I am currently re-obsessed with a sweet treat. A few months ago, while grocery shopping, I came across a set of jams, and it's been my go-to with toast when I want something sweet to pick me up.
Also, here is a fun fact about me: I love to bake cookies; I even almost started a cookie business a few years back. One of my best sellers is a cookie I accidentally came up with while making holiday pies (which I also looooove to bake). I came up with my version of a pie cookie, and I make a holiday jam to use in it. So truthfully, jam making is the jam for me π€£
π― Now back to the pins I was cleaning up the line work for the collection, but when I got to the cauldron and started drawing the contents inside it, my brain started to imagine the bubbling sounds and movement, and it brought me back to the bubbling of jam making.
Quicker than I can honestly understand, I had an aha moment; I could see it! I pictured a happy lil village witch who loves making magical jams and jellies that bring a lil magic and pep to your day. This story was exactly what it was missing. It brought the excitement and "this is wonderful" feeling I was looking for.
So, just like that, my witchy things finally had their story. A new set of illustrations came to life, and a whole world was created. The Bubbling Cauldron was born, and I am so excited to share it with you all!
⨠It features a jam-loving cat named Mulberry, who takes his job as jam guard very seriously, along with lots of witchy objects, magical jam-making tools, and of course, jammy jam jars⨠But I'll save those for the upcoming reveals!
