This could happen in any order, but the kid ultimately moves out of their childhood bedroom and takes their place in society as an independent adult.

Or, as is increasingly more likely, they graduate, and they can’t find a job. Or they lose their job. Or they discover their job doesn’t pay enough to cover their expenses. Or they're not sure what to do next. Before you know it, they’re right back at home.
