There was a slight manufacturing delay, but after last year, we had already worked in a bit of a buffer to account for that in our anticipated delivery timeline. And then this morning we were informed of another delay.
Now we're cutting it a bit closer, but nevertheless based on current information, we should still be able to fulfill rewards in November, meaning before Hanukkah!
Aside from the games themselves:
The cards are all printed ✅
The stickers are all printed ✅
The enamel pins are ready to go ✅
The upgraded 3D gold menorah turn trackers are printed, assembled, and packaged ✅
We are doing what we can to ensure everything else goes smoothly with the games, but unfortunately, quite a lot is out of our hands. Both the delays mentioned above have to do with the manufacturer, not anything on our end. We're disappointed, but we're reworking plans to ensure everything is set on our end when the games are ready.
Print & Play:
This part is in our hands, and we're happy to share it is almost ready to go! We are testing how the file prints, but it should be ready to send out next month.
PNP files will go out through the Backerkit pledge manager, which is a step we still need to figure out but have seen work many times, so hopefully it will be straightforward for all of us.
On that note: if you haven't completed your survey, you may not receive the PNP!
Surveys need to be complete in order for your rewards to be fulfilled, and to our understanding, that includes digital downloads. So please, please make sure to go fill out your survey if you haven't yet!
The games are deep into production, and we're working on all the logistics of getting them into the US. We're in a bit of a "no news is good news" situation on that front. But there are other things to discuss:
At this point, 80% of you have filled out your surveys! For those who haven't had a chance yet, please remember the deadline is July 22nd. This is a firm cutoff date due to the logistics of fulfillment.
If you aren't able to fill out your survey in time:
Your pledge tier rewards will still be counted, but we can't guarantee the availability of any add-ons.
If your rewards include cards or stickers, you will receive designs at random.
When it comes time to ship, you will have one more chance to update your shipping address and your payment method, to cover shipping fees and any applicable taxes.
We want you to get the goodies you choose! But the only way we can make that happen is if you fill out your survey.
Plus, Backerkit is very generously hosting some demo sessions at their booth throughout the convention, and one of those games will be Gelt Galore: Pocket Edition!

We have approved the digital proofs and sent the first payment, kicking off the official start of manufacturing Gelt Galore: Pocket Edition! 🥳
On the back end, this means we can start organizing details like freight shipping, safety testing, and more. So there's still plenty to do to get the games in, but this is a major step.
For those who haven't yet filled out your surveys, please make sure to do so by July 22nd. Even if you aren't planning to add anything to your pledge, we need the survey filled out to confirm your shipping address, and your choices for things like stickers and cards (if applicable).

The big news is that we've gotten the first round of digital proofs from our manufacturer! We've also sent over a few corrections to the files. Once the digital proofs look good, we'll be able to place the final order for the pocket edition games. The current tweaks are small, but we're trying to ensure everything is just right.
What this really means is that we're getting close to beginning production!
As we get close to finalizing the order, it's really helpful that so many of you have already filled out your surveys. Thanks for being so prompt!
While the deadline is still a ways out, it really does help with planning and ordering all the rewards if everyone gets their surveys in sooner rather than later.
We'll be locking completed surveys on a rolling basis. If you'd like to make changes after your survey is locked and before the deadline (July 22nd), please email us to unlock your survey.
No survey changes will be able to be made after the deadline, but the preorder store will remain open for available items.

Because this version of the game prioritizes playing with tokens instead of goodies like gelt and candy, using "treats" in the tagline felt a little misleading. So we'll be updating this version's tag line to:
