I thank you, Investigators, for your attention to this matter. Rumblings come across the Pacific in ripples, for something shakes the foundations below. Our ships disappear below the 41st Parallel. Cultural treasures go missing from locked vaults, and crates are opened to find nothing inside. Disappearances plague us both at home and abroad, as academics such as yourself have gone missing, or have seemingly been found by something much worse.
It is your expertise and skill that I know will unlock the secrets of this mystery. Or, failing that, I suppose your presence will at least make the affair more intriguing to be certain.
Roots of The Moai embodies that classic feeling of mythos investigation with mechanics for unearthing, preserving, and categorizing artefacts across a setting that spans from Buenos Aires to Auckland, Panama to Rapa Nui, and Antarctica to the Aleutians!
