History isn’t just something you read. It’s something you live. Play the world and survive the fall of a dying city.

Silverheart RPG is a historical roleplaying game set in late 1700s Kongsberg, Norway, a crumbling silver mining town on the brink of collapse. You will step into the filthy shoes of poor people burdened by debt, disaster, and dwindling hope—in order to fight for survival, and find purpose in the shadow of a dying industry.

Based on the Norwegian game Sølvhjerte (published 2024), now fully translated and adapted for a global audience, Silverheart is a rules-light tabletop RPG grounded in real history, allowing for both learning and fun!

Who Is This Game For?

  • Players and GMs looking for a system that lets the story emerge from exploration and consequence.
  • Fans of creative problem solving who enjoy using both player and character knowledge overcoming obstacles.
  • Educators looking for an engaging way to bring history to life in the classroom.

Played. Tested. Proven.

Silverheart RPG has been successfully played by regular gamers, students, and senior citizens, demonstrating its broad appeal and effectiveness as an engaging, easy-to-learn tool for experiencing history firsthand. The game has been utilized in educational settings, historical societies, and friendly local game stores, bringing history to life in a fun way for players of all ages.

Extensively played with hours of game-sessions, workshops, and educational fun!

Kongsberg was for decades the crown jewel of the Danish-Norwegian kingdom, and home to one of the largest silver mines in Europe. But now the mines are drying up. Jobs are vanishing. The city is dying.
Here, your story unfolds—during the fall, and in the turmoil that follows.

While the backdrop is serious, the game brings moments of humor. Failing badly or surviving in ridiculous ways turns tragedy into comedy, and players often find themselves laughing at hopeless situations. This blend of grit and comic relief makes Silverheart both thought-provoking and fun.

You play as Fortune Seekers

Amid the turmoil, you play as struggling Fortune Seekers, Widows, and Vagabonds—drowning in debt and swept up in a slow-burning disaster. Survival is uncertain, and every coin counts as you claw your way toward paying down what you owe. Desperate times demand desperate measures. This is not a tale of glory—it’s a story of grit, hard choices, and raw human resilience.

You play as Fortune Seekers, either as a Vagabond or a Widow
