Get Ready for Sun's Edge - Action Adventure Platforming!

🔥Sun's Edge is a game being developed for PC and Console by indie developer KC Studios. This 3D Action Platformer was inspired by Zelda Breath of the Wild, Monster Hunter, and Elden Ring! Equip your best weapon and step into the boots of Machete, a Ranger who has been sent to investigate Cipactli, a massive crocodile with a continent on it's back. Asleep for eons, the story of this creature fell into legend, believed by many to be nothing more than myth... But something just woke it up, and it's ready to devour the world!

🥾Explore open world maps, mix and match power ups, customize your combat abilities in the skill tree, collect armor and weapons, catch bugs and fish for your beastiary, and collect all the crystal skull shards to put Cipactli back to rest before Tezcatlipoca turns the world to shadow! Get ready to bushwack vines, scale perilous cliffs, and fight for your life!

🏞Story Mode is an RPG mode that takes you through each of the 20 hand crafted maps in a linear path. Endless Mode will be procedurally generated with greater challenges and rewards the longer you can survive! There are CURRENTLY 17 Story Mode maps with a planned 20 total at launch!

🎣Additional minigames, including bug catching and fishing contests will also be included!

🏜Travel across the world in 20 maps featuring a variety of scenic locations inspired by real life and Aztec mythology! Each level is open to explore and feature multiple paths with different challenges and rewards.

🖐You'll come across many characters on your journey, some in need of help! Be ready to locate missing persons, deliver medicine to remote tribes, stop villages from being invaded, rescue people from being sacrificed, and more! You've got this!

☠Watch your neck and be prepared for hidden traps, puzzles, and deadly close quarter combat in dungeon levels! If you can manage to outsmart the dungeon designer, powerful relics await you! These weapons and charms can DRASTICALLY affect your future for those bold enough to try!!!

⚔This is one for the fans of the Hack-and-Slash genre! Play it simple if you choose, or customize your moves! Learn new combos and level up with the Skill Tree! Be prepared to fight off any monster that blocks the way! The end of the world is at stake!

🤝Ranger Machete is not alone! Play as the other crew members too! Each of his companions have a signature combat style with unique item and armor sets that can be utilized to access new parts of the map and spice up combat in different creative ways! Smokey is an archer, Sierra is a potion master, Maria has several guns, Diego is a pyromancer, and more!

🪓You can collect many weapons, including: axes, bombs, clubs, dual daggers, macuahuitls (obsidian swords) elemental staffs, guns, spears, just to name a few! Each weapon has a unique playstyle, daggers are much quicker than a macuahuitl, but don't have strong knockback. Carefully place bombs to kill monsters and uncover hidden secrets! Weapons degrade over time and can be repaired with collected obsidian shards!

⏳The story of Sun's Edge taps into the fear of not having enough time on our hands. It is a reflection on my own challenges of making the most out of everyday, because tomorrow is never guaranteed. The main character is going against the odds to save the world at the cost of destroying himself. He knows that if he stops even for a moment, his family will perish, and that pushes him on even when everything seems impossible.

🌵I chose to have the setting be Pre-Columbian MesoAmerica because it is overlooked in pop culture despite how amazing it is!!! Being Black and Latino, I wanted to find a fun way to honor my heritage through a new story inspired by their unique mythology. Most characters and locations are inspired by Aztec, Navajo, Incan, and other pre-Columbian nations from Central America! Supporting this project can help show growing interest in the genre so we get more new stories and games!
