KUMIKO: AFTER DARK | Alternative Apparel Collection
After years of creating alternative artwork, stickers, accessories and all things cute-but-a-little-strange, I'm taking the next step: turning my artwork into a collection designed to actually be worn.
Welcome to Kumiko Apparel: Collection 01.
This isn't about putting a small logo onto a generic hoodie and calling it merch. Collection 01 is being developed as a proper alternative apparel range, combining original Kumiko artwork with oversized silhouettes, bold placements and details that make each garment part of the design.

I'm developing Collection 01 as a cohesive range, with each garment getting its own artwork while sharing the same alternative Kumiko identity.
More pieces will be revealed as we get closer to launch.
✦ WHY BACKERKIT?
Producing custom clothing requires considerably larger minimum orders than my usual products.
Crowdfunding means I can create the collection without cutting corners on the things that matter—fabric, printing, fit and custom branding—while knowing these clothes actually have people waiting to wear them.
The initial manufacturing run will have a 50-piece minimum, making your support genuinely responsible for bringing Collection 01 into existence.
✦ CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT
The first hoodie design is complete and I'm currently speaking with manufacturers to find the right production partner.
Next comes fabric selection, manufacturer quotes, sampling, fit testing and eventually the finished prototype.
I'll be sharing that process along the way, including behind-the-scenes development and new garment reveals.

Welcome to Kumiko Apparel - Collection 01!
Kumiko Stickers is officially branching out… into apparel!!
I’ve been working behind the scenes on something much bigger than my usual products, and I’m so excited to finally start sharing Kumiko Apparel: Collection 01 with you.
The first piece of the collection is:
Piece 001 — Creature of the Night
An oversized black hoodie covered in everything I love about Kumiko’s style, pinks, purples, gothic details, cute creatures and a BIG statement back print. It features artwork across the front, back and sleeves, so I really wanted it to feel like a complete clothing design rather than just a graphic placed on a hoodie.
The campaign is still in its pre-launch stage, which means I’ll be using these updates to take you along for the whole process: manufacturer progress, samples, fabric and print choices, sizing, behind-the-scenes development and more.
And Piece 001 might not be the only clothing design joining Collection 01…
I’m planning community and funding achievements for the campaign, including milestones for the number of backers we reach and the possibility of unlocking additional apparel pieces as the campaign grows.
For now, thank you SO much for being here this early. Following the project genuinely helps me see how much interest there is before I commit to manufacturing.
