Sail the Oceans Queer is 88% fulfilled!
Ahoy me hearties!

As of now, 88% of Sail the Oceans Queer orders have been fulfilled. There are still some people who haven't completed their surveys yet, and a couple of people whose cards were declined; be sure to check your surveys to make sure that everything has gone through!

Also if you know anyone who missed the BackerKit campaign and wished they had gotten in on it, the pre-order store is open and taking orders! I've been mailing those out with the backers' orders this past week. :) You can find it here: https://sail-the-oceans-queer.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Feel free to tag me on social media if you post about your packages arriving! I'm lalionnecosplay everywhere, and I'm always excited to see that the games have found their way to their new homes. 💕

Have a good weekend, everyone! 💕

Shipping has begun!
Hello everyone, I just wanted to send out a quick word that shipping has officially begun! I took advantage of the fact that I was in the UK this weekend to mail out packages to UK backers while I was there, and those folks should have received their packages today. I'll be going through orders in batches moving forward, and hopefully will have all packages on their way to everyone by next week. 💕

I'm releasing digital rewards to everyone who ordered them, and this includes all the character sheets! You'll get a separate email from BackerKit with a link to the downloads page. I haven't had time to work on the 6 prebuilt character sheets, but they will be coming soon! I just want to prioritize getting the orders out first. ☺️

Sorry for the lack of pirate-talk this time, I'm still getting over the distinct lack of sleep that comes from being at Empire LARP all weekend. So... yarr?

📚 The books are here! 🏴‍☠️
Ahoy there!

I bring exciting news from the shores of fulfillment: the physical books for Sail the Oceans Queer have officially arrived at my doorstep! I’m currently inspecting the books and taking stock, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin shipping them out to you in the coming weeks.

A pile of Sail the Oceans Queer books on a hardwood floor, showing off the covers and some of the interior pages.

Important: Address Locking Ahead!

This week, I’ll be locking shipping addresses to prepare for shipment. Keep a sharp eye out for an email from BackerKit; be sure to confirm that your address is shipshape before it’s locked in!

Survey Stowaways Still Missing!

There are still 18 people who haven’t filled out their BackerKit surveys. While some of these are Supporter-level backers, a number of you are due digital or physical treasures. If your survey link has been lost at sea, never fear: you can request a new one directly through BackerKit. Remember, I can’t deliver your rewards until your survey is complete and your shipping fees (if any) are settled.

Thanks again for sailing with me on this adventure. Your support means the world. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to cast off into the shipping phase!

The PDF is officially complete!
Ahoy, me hearties! I'm excited to tell you that the updated PDF of Sail the Oceans Queer is now officially live! 🥳 With all-new beautiful artwork by Fael_Draws and custom character sheets by Alderdoodle, this incredible project is so much more than I could have dreamed it could be compared to the original version of the game. Huge shout-out to my incredible editor, J.D., without whom this game wouldn't be the way it is today.

For those who have completed their surveys, you should be receiving a 48-hour "lock order" notice. After that time has passed, you will no longer be able to edit your order, so if you want to add anything else, now's the time to do it! Cards will be charged on June 30th.

There are still 22 people who haven't completed their surveys, so if you've lost your survey or are uncertain where to get it, go to the survey recovery page here and enter your email address to get a new link: https://sail-the-oceans-queer.backerkit.com/

Also, please check your name on your surveys; these are what I will be using for the BackerKit credit page in the printed version of the book. If you have a different name you want to be listed, or wish to be anonymous, please shoot me an email at [email protected]!

I'll be sending the books out to my publisher to be printed early next week! I can't wait to share the final printed versions with you all.

Thank you so much for your support, and happy Pride Month!!

Happy Pride! 🌈 Big Updates for Sail the Oceans Queer + CRIT Award Nominations!

✨🏳️‍🌈Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈✨

This community is a beautiful source of creativity, joy, and love, and I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you. Whether you're marching in parades, rolling dice with your crew, or just getting through the day with metaphorical glitter in your heart, know that you make this space magical. 💖

Sail the Oceans Queer progress update

Things are sailing ahead beautifully! The artwork is nearly finished, and let me tell you, it looks stunning. From heroic queer pirates to mythical sea creatures (and mundane seaside creatures. Here’s looking at you, Jerry) and action-packed scenes, each piece is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for this game’s updated design! Check out one of said gorgeous pieces of art below!

Four pirates mid-combat showing off magical abilities, swashbuckling, and aiding an ally.
Speaking of, the updated text is currently in the editing stage. I’m polishing every paragraph, and we're so close to port now. I can’t wait for you to hold this loot in your hands!

🏆 I’ve been nominated for TWO CRIT Awards!

Some absolutely exciting news: I’ve been nominated for not one, but TWO CRIT Awards! 🎉

I’m beyond honored, and so proud to see indie TTRPGs and queer creators getting love like this. 💖Check out the full list of nominees here and vote for all these amazing people here! (I also highly recommend voting for Michelle for best Darrington Press player—she’s up for her role in my Candela miniseries, The Circle of Glass and Vapour! 😉)

🌿 Only a Few Days Left to Back Encounters at a Glance – Into the Wild!

I’m one of the writers for Encounters at a Glance: Into the Wild, a super cool Kickstarter campaign full of dynamic, flexible encounter prompts to spice up your games.

There are just a couple of days left to back it! 👉 Click here to check it out and support my work! Backing through this link also helps me directly as a contributor. 💖

🏙️ See You at Dokomi This Weekend!

If you’re headed to Dokomi in Düsseldorf, come say hi! I’ll be in Hall 3 at Booth 3F48, right across from the Book Nook stage.

Thank you, always, for being part of this wild, wonderful, queer adventure. Here’s to games that celebrate who we are and the worlds we imagine together. 🧜‍♀️⚔️🌈

With love,

Anya

Surveys are out! And another crowdfunding campaign.
Ahoy, me hearties! The tide is turning, crew. Great news ahead!

The Smoke Test results are in!
Everything’s looking shipshape, so the rest of the BackerKit surveys are officially going out now! Check your inbox and fill out your survey when you can. This is where you’ll lock in your shipping information, choose any add-ons, and let us know how you’d like to receive your rewards.

In-person pickups at Main Quest Con & Dragonmeet!
Headed to Main Quest Con (Netherlands) or Dragonmeet (London) later this year? So am I! If you’d like to pick up your pledge in person (and avoid shipping costs), just select "Local Pickup" at checkout in your survey. Easy as that! I’d love to see your beautiful faces and hand over your treasures directly.

Digital backers with physical rewards: a quick note
If you backed at a digital level (PDF-only or Supporter) but qualified for physical rewards (by backing our cross-collab partner Duat or backing within the first 48 hours) and you’d prefer NOT to receive physical items, please message me directly. I’ll remove those items from your pledge so you won’t be charged for shipping. No worries either way; we’re here to make your experience smooth sailing.

New crowdfunding project: Encounters at a Glance – Into the Wild!
I have something extra exciting to share: I’m one of the writers for Encounters at a Glance: Into the Wild, a new Kickstarter campaign by the team at Worlds at a Glance! It was fully funded in just 25 minutes and still has 19 days to go. If you love creative, flexible encounter ideas for your TTRPGs and struggle with making travel interesting (or just want more options for your table!), you will adore this project.

You can back it RIGHT NOW—and if you use this special link, I’ll even receive a little boost as a contributing writer. Thank you so much for supporting my work. It truly means the world.

That’s all for now, crew. Thank you again for being part of this journey. We’re full speed ahead, and I couldn’t do it without you.

With gratitude and glitter,
 - Anya

Sail the Oceans Queer is a 2-4 player TTRPG in which you are the crew aboard a ship sailing to grand adventures. You came together much as many find their true found family: through a connected queer identity and understanding of the world around you. You find your power and strength through the friendships you’ve forged with your fellow pirate crew members, and together you can face any challenge that may come your way!

This crowdfunding campaign is a complete overhaul of a digital Caltrop Core system game written by La Lionne Publishing, with all-new artwork drawn exclusively for the project by FaelDraws (faeldraws.myportfolio.com). The finished product will be a portable A5-sized saddle-stitch booklet.

This game is meant to be played collaboratively with a Storyteller and 2-4 players. Everyone at the table can shape the world and story told, and in fact are encouraged to do so.

This work is based on Caltrop Core, published by Titanomachy RPG. The Caltrop Core SRD is licensed for use under a Creative Commons AttributionShareAlike 4.0 International License.
