More than a chatbot
Presence is not designed as a single assistant window attached to a language model, it is an ecosystem of specialized local systems capable of working together.
Some systems focus on ambient interaction and continuity. Others handle analysis, creative workflows, coding, generation pipelines, or structured task execution.
The goal is not simply to answer prompts.
The goal is to create a local AI environment capable of remaining useful over time.
Presence Companion Environment
Presence Companion is the ambient core of the ecosystem.
Rather than behaving like a traditional question-and-answer chatbot, Companion is designed around continuity, contextual awareness, brainstorming, and long-term interaction.
Presence can interact through:

voice,
images,
and multimodal interfaces.
It can maintain conversational continuity, assist with brainstorming sessions, react to environmental changes, and remain available even when the user temporarily steps away.
One of the ideas behind Presence is that local AI should feel less like launching a tool and more like interacting with an environment that remains active over time.
When enabled by the user, Presence can also observe lightweight contextual snapshots from connected webcams in order to maintain environmental continuity and react to changes.
Importantly, Presence is not designed around cloud surveillance systems.
Snapshots are processed locally. Images are not permanently stored. No webcam streams are uploaded to external servers.
The system only maintains lightweight contextual representations used to compare changes between moments in time.
All perception systems remain:
optional,
locally executed,
and entirely controlled by the user.
Because contextual AI should remain private, transparent, and user-owned.
Sentinel
Local OSINT and situational analysis
During development, Presence gradually evolved beyond the idea of a companion system.
The result is Sentinel: a local AI-assisted OSINT and situational awareness environment integrated directly into the Presence ecosystem.
Sentinel is designed for:
journalists,
researchers,
analysts,
creators,
investigators,
and users interested in understanding and monitoring real-world events.
The system can aggregate multiple public data sources and help users explore:
seismic activity,
volcanic eruptions,
natural disasters,
environmental events,
news streams,
infrastructure incidents,
and other open-source intelligence feeds.
But Sentinel is not simply a dashboard full of maps and notifications.
The interesting part is the interaction layer.
Users can select events directly from the map and discuss them naturally with Presence itself.
Instead of forcing users to manually interpret raw feeds, Presence can assist in identifying correlations, highlighting relevant changes, and providing contextual analysis through conversational interaction.
The goal is not surveillance.
The goal is awareness, contextual understanding, and collaborative analysis.
Presence Director Studio
One of the biggest problems with current generative AI systems is that they often feel disconnected from the actual creative process.
You write a prompt. The model generates something. If the result is wrong, you start over.
Director Studio was designed to make this process feel more collaborative.
Presence can begin from a simple idea and progressively refine the creative direction through iterative interaction.
Instead of acting like a one-shot prompt generator, Presence can:
critique generated results,
refine prompts automatically,
maintain stylistic continuity,
suggest improvements,
orchestrate multiple generation models,
and progressively move toward the intended creative direction.

Presence Coding Agent
Presence also includes a system of specialized local agents designed around structured workflows rather than simple autocomplete generation.
The Presence Coding Agent was designed to behave less like a code suggestion tool and more like a collaborative local development environment.
Instead of immediately generating files blindly, the system can:
analyze requests,
clarify project goals,
decompose tasks,
generate structured execution plans,
validate outputs,
iterate on errors,
and supervise generation workflows inside sandboxed environments.
Projects are organized through structured planning systems that define:
task lists,
validation criteria,
assumptions,
rollback states,
isolated execution layers,
and iterative review passes.
The goal is not to replace developers.
The goal is to create local AI systems capable of assisting real workflows while remaining controllable, inspectable, and affordable to run.

A modular local AI ecosystem
Presence is designed as a modular ecosystem rather than a single monolithic application.

Rather than existing as isolated tools, these systems are designed to exchange context, collaborate, and operate together inside the same local AI environment.
One of the biggest lessons learned from Eidolon was simple:
Real users have very different hardware.
Some use gaming GPUs. Others use mini PCs. Others rely on Apple Silicon systems with unified memory.
Because of this, Presence is being designed around multiple hardware tiers optimized for different classes of systems.
Lightweight configurations will focus on companion systems and lighter workflows.
More advanced tiers will support:
larger models,
advanced generation pipelines,
structured agents,
multimodal orchestration,
and heavier analytical workloads.
Presence is designed to scale across different hardware profiles rather than forcing all users into a single oversized configuration.
Modern GPUs — especially NVIDIA GPUs — still provide the best experience for advanced multimodal workloads, but many Presence systems are also being designed to run on modern unified-memory systems such as Apple Silicon and newer mini PCs.
At the same time, Presence is being built around realistic hardware expectations.
Unlike some early experimental local AI projects, Presence will not officially target obsolete CPUs, decade-old GPUs, or unrealistic heavy multimodal workloads on severely underpowered systems.
Because eventually we learned that some people will absolutely try generating cinematic AI video on machines that already struggle to open multiple browser tabs simultaneously.
Human optimism remains undefeated.
Built on real-world deployment experience
Presence is not a concept mockup.
Much of the underlying infrastructure already exists today and is actively being tested through real workflows across Windows, Linux, and macOS systems.
The project is built on the experience gained while deploying Eidolon Home AI to real users running real hardware in uncontrolled environments outside carefully staged demos.
That experience shaped almost every design decision behind Presence:
modular deployment,
local execution,
hardware scalability,
multimodal orchestration,
iterative workflows,
and long-term usability.
This campaign is not about starting from zero.
It is about expanding, integrating, refining, and evolving an ecosystem that already exists.
