Plus One Exp, in partnership with Brian Miranda & J Evan Parks, brings you two new great games about good & evil, shadow & light, unexpected heroes & ancient power.

The 7th Order Teaser

The 7th Order By Brian Miranda

It was supposed to be a simple job. After shitty retail and food service jobs, being a security guard was supposed to be a walk in the park—stand around, make sure nobody acts like a fool, and call the cops if someone does start some shit. Simple and easy.

Then the End of the World had to happen. A mysterious person called the Saint shows up and tells you and your coworkers that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are going to descend and bring about the End of All Things. The worst part? It your job on you to stop them.

With art by Robbi Burns, Development by Wes Franks, Editing by Heather Romanowski & Layout by Johnny Isorena. The 7th Order explores what happens when it's time for Kingdom Come, and only you an your coworkers at Knightly Security can stop it.

Play the game to find out how you got caught up in this, what happen to the previous Knightly Orders, and to answer the question "Is the world worth saving?"

Touchstones: This game is inspired by the Shin Megami Tensei series of video games by Atlus, specifically, Devil Survivor and Persona 3. This game also takes influence from the Reaper TV Series and Good Omens

Ritual Deck King Of Games Teaser

Ritual Deck by J Evan Parks

You studied hard, built your deck, and earned your spot at Battle City Prep. Now, IT'S TIME TO DUEL!
Take on the role of teenage card duelists at your city's elite dueling academy learning from established champions, making friends, playing in tournaments... maybe even going to prom?

It was all like you dreamed, until the day that an amnesiac spirit latched onto your soul. They warned you that the game is actual an ancient ritual being used to bring an ancient kingdom back to earth & ruled by the evil King of Games.

With art by Andrew Beauman & Yanni + Anna from The Press Betwixt, Development & editing by Chaotic  Jamogchian. Ritual Deck is also an Ennie Award winning game from Plus One's Zine Club Year 2 Collection that is being expanded and remastered for a full release!

Play the game to find out about the Ancient Kingdom & your spirit's role there, who the King of Games even is, and why people keep dying at your school?!?!

Touchstones:  This game draws most of its inspiration from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga series by Kazuki Takahashi, who had an indelible impact on so many people’s lives. Other thematic influences include the Persona series, Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, Metal Gear Solid, Naruto, Speed Racer (2008) and more.

Kingdoms: Carved From Brindlewood

Both of these two games are built on the critically acclaimed Carved From Brindlewood system that debuted with Brindlewood Bay and has grown with The Between, Public Access, and more.

Carved from Brindlewood mystery ttrpgs are famous for:
  • Cinematic storytelling that incentivizes revelatory flashbacks, unexpected twists, and dramatic consequences.
  • Unscripted solutions, inviting groups to creatively puzzle through the unique story of each playthrough.
  • Lightweight rules that make it easy to onboard players, even ones who’ve never played a roleplaying game before.
  • Modular scenarios that reduce the prep time needed for intriguing characters, evocative locations, and strange dangers.

While both of these games can be played as one shots or short arcs, they are designed to offer full length stand alone campaigns of 12-18 sessions.

Created by Jason Cordova, Carved From Brindlewood games are an evolution of the mechanics, playstyle & sensibilities of Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) by Vincent & Meguey Baker.
