Our main publication is The Hearth Magazine, a bi-monthly digital magazine about small press and creator published TTRPGs featuring contributors and artists from around the world. You can find out more about the magazine and how to contribute on our website.
The Hearth Magazine is 100% human created, with writers paid for their work, using art either licensed from actual artists or royalty-free stock art. GenAI is garbage tech for garbage people and neither PDP nor The Hearth Magazine will ever use it.

The Hearth Magazine Commitments
Before everything else, before I thought about the content and layout of The Hearth Magazine, I had a good think about what the magazine would be committed to. I knew if the magazine was going to have any longevity it had to have a solid foundation to work from. That meant standing for things that matter in the TTRPG space I wanted THM to be a part of.

- No Generative AI
- Actively Support Traditionally Marginalized Creators
- Actively Oppose Bigotry
- Focus on Non-D&D Games
- Support TTRPG Philanthropy
- Accessibility
We haven't been perfect at all of these, but having these commitments in place from the start meant I could continue to work at them every issue. It also gave me a solid guide for how Prairie Dragon Press and The Hearth Magazine would handle itself in the online space, between magazine issues. Before we jump into publishing Volume 2 there will be a review of what we did and plan to do, so we do it even better in 2027!

Welcome to The Hearth Magazine, Traveller!
Welcome! Rest your weary feet by the fire, traveller! Successfully finishing up our Volume 1 run of six The Hearth Magazine issues, Prairie Dragon Press is now working on its first crowdfunding campaign! Our goal is raise the funds needed ($6,000 USD) to pay contributors for the entire run of Volume 2 (Issues 7-12) up front, ensuring a better experience for our contributors and guaranteeing a full year of The Hearth Magazine.
So your early support by Following the campaign is greatly appreciated! More updates will come, as I talk more specifically about where the money is going, what stretch goals might look like, and so on. On the matter of stretch goals, rest assured: should we get to that point every milestone will exist to provide an enhancement or improvement to the series of magazines you already pledged to. This is my first time out so I'm keeping it simple for both of us!
My first request for you is simply this: please share the link wherever you are on social media and talk us up! I can shout about this all day (and I will), but folks seeing you all talking about it will help create excitement and bring the campaign more Followers. Then those Followers talk it up and get more Followers, and by launch day we have a good group of folks excited to back the project.
