Two side of the same coin (or, um...book).
- DEBT MERC: science fiction, body-hopping posthuman mecha. Ghost In The Shell meets Armored Core.
- Emberjack: gothic horror steampunk fantasy mecha. Dark Souls meets Escaflowne.
- Both: powered by RELICT | TECH, a mecha-focused spinoff of the open source Relict RPG system.
In DEBT MERC, players take on the role of post-human mercenaries tackling the most dangerous gigs in the star system for the sake of chits, glory, and crushing financial necessity.
Every component that gets blown off your vehicle — or your body — has a price tag, and failure to make your payments can open up a world of hurt.
Carve through Cyclopea as a straight-laced merc balanced on the edge, or throw the biggest warship you can find on a stolen credit chit and high-tail it to pirate country before the repo man catches on: the choice is yours, but there's always a bill coming due.
In Emberjack, players take on the roll of Hollows, mortals corrupted by dark magic in order to pilot the fallen Godkings' ultimate war machines: the Emberjacks.
Hollows must constantly acquire the souls of others to power their mecha and sustain their own life force — a terrible price that some are willing to pay in order to combat the legions of eldritch monstrosities and slumbering nightmares unleashed when the Godkings fell.
Players must navigate a gothic, grim-dark fantasy world filled with peril, plots, and dangerous forces vying for control of a rebuilding world; all of whom have their own plans to harness, direct, or destroy the Hollows.
