What is Button Man?
Button Man is a comic book tale come to life, a story-driven adventure game which smashes together classic point & click mystery with side-scrolling beat ‘em up action. Set in a fictionalized Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1924 at the height of Prohibition, Button Man is a tale of booze and betrayal – and a tough guy looking to make peace with his violent past.
Rendered in a sharp comic book style inspired by the likes of Tintin – with cutscenes and an original companion comic to match – Button Man is a stylish adventure that really packs a punch.
THE STORY SO FAR…
Meet Bruce McKenzie, a war hero and former muscle for the top dog in Kingsport. Two years on the front lines left his city to rot and his old boss full of lead. Now he’s back and he’s gonna tear the town apart to find out who did it.
With nothing to lose and too many grudges to count, Bruce teams up with Jaime Donovan, a greenhorn reporter who doesn’t know when to stop asking questions, and Dahlia O’Halloran, a Hollywood starlet slumming it in Kingsport’s darkest corners for reasons she won’t say. Together, the trio will unravel a conspiracy that runs from the salt-stained piers of the harbourfront all the way to city hall and beyond.
You’ll pound the pavement, follow leads, rough up suspects, collect clues, and fish (even a bruiser like Bruce has gotta have a hobby) in a town that hides its secrets deep. Kingsport’s a city that eats men alive, but it’s never met a man like Bruce McKenzie.
