During the Cretaceous era, the mighty dinosaurs reigned as kings of the prehistoric world! But long before that, their Devonian ancestors braved their first steps onto land. Even further back, you would be forgiven for assuming the strange, marine arthropods and jawless fish of the Cambrian were aliens on Earth!
As a sequel campaign to Paleo Pals, Holocene resident Toadstown is happy to present Paleo Pals: Series 2, a new collection featuring history's most iconic creatures, dinosaurs or otherwise! Series 2 will showcase fan-favorite suggestions from the original campaign alongside a strong cast of other critters made notable by how strange and unique they were.
Each 1.5" (40mm) soft enamel pin is dyed, with colorful UV-printed details. Stretch goals are set to include mini pins, acrylic keychains, and with your support, hopefully even more!
π Spread The Word
We're counting on you to help this campaign succeed! Follow and share the word to help support the project. If you've got a buddy into paleontology, know any veteran players of The Isle, or are just a fan of Earth's bygone fauna, we have a little for all fans of prehistoric life!

Expect Your Survey Soon
Surveys Going Out This Week
Thank you folks for the amazing campaign! We did amazingly this run and it's all thanks to you all. Now it's time to hunker down and get some of the paperwork out of the way. Smoke tests for the Backerkit surveys are being sent out. Smoke tests last for 1 day to a week depending on how long it takes for people to finish. Once it is finished everyone gets their surveys so keep an eye on your emails to see when your survey comes in.
Try to fill out your survey as soon as possible but you do have until October 19th to finish them. After that surveys will be locking down and production will be started.
Colors in this mockup are not final and may be changed.
Washi Tapes And Sticker Sets Are Up For Preorder
As you folks saw in our last update, we were working on gold stamped washi tapes. Well the artwork for both is now finalized! When you do your surveys you can pick both washi tapes for just $7 each to add to your scrapbook lineup. Once you have access to the survey you will also be able to pick up sets of six stickers for only $8 each. The stickers come in groups to keep prices low. Stickers will be 2 inch matte vinyl stickers with colored borders.
Paleo Pals 1 Pins Are Up for Order
The survey will also contain the full Paleo Pals 1 pin set for choosing. They will be at a special price of $9 instead of $10 each so it will be cheaper to order them via the pre-order store than my Etsy. Please be reminded that while the Paleo Pal 1 set is already completed that it will be shipped out at the same time as the Paleo Pal 2 orders. If you want Paleo Pal 1 pins immediately you will need to buy them on my Etsy.
Pre-Order Store Opening
Have a friend that missed the campaign? Send them to the pre-order store! This will be as open as long as surveys will be so if you missed out make sure to get in. If you are a backer DO NOT use that link. You will be able to order more addons, washi tapes, stickers and pins when you get your surveys.
About Shipping / Delivery Date
Shipping will be charged right away along with any extra addons you have picked up once the surveys close. Our current expectation is that delivery will start late January 2027, as such we have no reason to think shipping prices will change much in the time, but we will keep you updated if anything changes.
About Failed Charges
If you have a failed charge make sure to update your card so that you can get your rewards. If your payment failed it will be retried every couple of days so get your payment information updated when you can.
That's all for now. I'll post a new update when surveys close up. Thank you so much for reading!
Howdy, Paleo Pals! It's the final stretch!! We have officially tipped over into the last 24 hours of the Paleo Pals: Series 2 campaign, and have a few last-minute goodies we're excited to share before we wrap up and get production moving...
π¨ Stationary Goodies: Washi Tape & Stickers
"Fossilized Washi" Mockup - artwork not final! Fossil details will be metallic gold.
The artwork is still in the drafting stages, but we couldn't contain ourselves. LOOK HOW CUTE THEY ARE. Both versions of the washi tape are available now in the campaign add-ons for $7 a piece! Each printed paper washi roll will be 20mm wide, and the fossils on the "Fossilized Washi" will be printed in metallic gold!
Mockups - Colors are not final!
Similarly, we hear you guys loud and clear: if given the choice, smaller stickers! For those who don't have space on their pinboards, we're hoping to offer themed sticker packs of our paleo pals designs, ideally sets of six 1.5~2" stickers each, bundled together in a herd for safety. Themes like "dinosaur sticker pack", or "aquatic sticker pack", stuff of the sort! These will be available in the survey add-ons once we sort out who goes where.
All artwork pictured are mockups, the carboniferous era washi especially will receive some polish in the coming days. If you'd rather hang tight until the artwork is done, everything listed here will be available in the survey add-ons!
π ...What Happens Next?
After the campaign concludes tomorrow at 2:00pm CDT, sit tight for your post-campaign survey so you can pick out your rewards! Your survey may take a few days to reach you, so hold tight if yours doesn't arrive right away. Expect one more big update once surveys start rolling out!
We are on-track with the projected timeline, so backers will haveuntil October 19th to fill out their survey. From there, we'll gather up the order information, charge cards for orders, and pins will go into production. We're hoping to ship early January, but we'll have plenty of production updates throughout the months to keep you all updated, and get a peek at the pins as they're made π
As far as projects coming up, we have a few appropriate for the spooky season as fall creeps in...
Wonderful news! Hell's gates are open, are everyone is free to go... except Satan. He must first ensure everybody else leaves before he too is freed. So, what of the sinners who wish to stay?
I am proud to return as collaborator with my partner and behind-the-scenes manager Atom to bring you RED HELL: Forgive the SIN, the sequel to our digital metafiction BLUE HELL project. Guide demons out of hell in this unholy interactive pin campaign! There's angels, devils, robots, drama, gore, and stickers!
An alien parasite has crash-landed in the enchanted woods, warping the magic of the land into something unrecognizable. Part pin campaign, part monster manual, Blighted Bestiary is a folk legend gone wrong.
Inspired by The Thing (1982), Dredge, and tabletop RPGs, Blighted Bestiary will be debuting as part of Pintober 2026, just in time for Halloween!
π And Most Of All... THANK YOU!
I mean this more every time I say it, but thank you all from the bottom of my heart!! On top of absolutely SWEEPING all the goals we set out in a matter of days, $12k is not an insignificant number, and it's STILL climbing as we enter the final hours.
I'd be remiss if I did not thank the stellar Atomic [backerkit] for all the amazing work they do helping out with manufacturing and vector wizardry. Go support RED HELL, they're an incredible storyteller and I personally cannot WAIT until what they're cooking up goes live! And of course, my gratitude goes out to all of you guys, be it backer, follower, or passerby who took the time to read this far! I'm always blown away by all of your excitement for my art, and hope to keep sharing it and making neat stuff for as long as we're able to.
Thank you all again, we'll catch you very soon with the surveys and next steps!
AND we gave the Andrewsarchus some lovely hooves to help evoke a little bit more ungulate in its design!
The final week of the campaign is upon us, and all the pin artwork mockups should now accurately reflect the intended final designs! (With some wiggle room for changes necessary through production).
This marks a total of 13 1.5" dyed enamel pins, and one set of 3 mini .75" pins in the campaign's current lineup. Since we're pretty confident this is all the enamel pins we're hoping to reveal, an "all the pins" pledge tierhas been added that encompasses all 14 pin products, no need to fuss with add-ons if you just want one of each!
𦴠Fossil Vote Winner
The fossil vote has concluded, and the Spinosaurus reigns supreme! History has chosen it to be fossilized, and this dyed enamel spino fossil pin is now available to pledge for alongside its still-living counterparts!
This was our final community vote for this campaign, but we're still hoping you guys stick around to keep pitching your feedback and ideas, because we've still got a few items left in store...
𦣠More Goodies Ahead?
Well, who needs stretch goals anyways! While we've been cooking up ideas for merch to offer in the last legs of this campaign, you all have blazed past what would have been the target numbers to fund something like more stickers or washi tape.
So, we decided whatever stickers or washi tape we make will skip the fanfare and go right into the add-on options! Consider them funded, and they'll be announced when finished ;) If another big stretch goal does appear, we'll be sure to let you all know here.
That's all to say... check out one of our washi tape concepts! A carboniferous parade of flora and fauna. We're hoping to add a second option to the washi offerings, maybe a Cambrian sea, or some metallic fossils against a shale background?
And for absolutely no reason whatsoever, do you guys like a lotta smaller stickers, or a few big ones?
ARTWORK IS UNFINISHED - colors and proper lineart to come!
As always, THANK YOU ALL for the amazing support so far! We'll catch you soon with the rest of our stationary ideas very soon and our final campaign offerings!
After a hard-fought battle, the Plesiosaurus swims away as the victor of the aquatic creature poll! There were too many amazing suggestions, you guys made it so hard to pass up so many critters!
This is all to say... to the Liopleurodon fan club, we hear you guys loud and clear. Judging by the aquatic poll runner-up being Kronosaurus, it feels perfectly fitting to put forth TWO winners, so welcome aboard, Liopleurodon! Apparently, this guy is magical, which frankly seems excessive for an aquatic apex predator, but we're not gonna be the ones to tell it anything otherwise.
Liopleurodon and Plesiosaurus
The Liopleurodon and Plesiosaurus are both currently available to pledge for as pins while we work on finalizing their artwork, but enjoy the first passes in the meantime.
𦴠...Now Fossilize Them!
We've cobbled together some of our favorite pins between this campaign and the first Paleo pals, and need your guys' help in our final vote to decide which existing pin to make a fossilized variant of.
The style will be something akin to our mini fossil pin set, just full sized! And as usual, let us know if we're off the mark for what the fan-favorites are if you'd prefer an option you don't see!
π Future Stretch Goals?
17 whole days to go and you guys havecompletely cleared us of our stretch goals! WOW, truly wow!! No matter what, your guys' excitement for these projects and generosity continue to blow us out of the water.
But with about 3 weeks left, and want to give you all something to chew on. There's a few ideas we have up our sleeves for additional goals, but while we return to the drawing boards... what do you want to see?
We're open to any suggestions, be it subject matter or type merch! More acrylic or shaker charms? Sticker sets? Washi tape? Maybe you guys want to see one big beautiful Prototaxite or maybe some Cambrian weirdos? Anything flies!
In the meantime, pitch your vote... Which one of our existing pins do you want to see FOSSILIZED?
Good evening, paleo pals! Just wanted to swing by with a quick update since we're coming up quick on our last poll, and had a few notable stretch goal unlocks to announce before we press further on...
πͺΆ Fossils and Feathers
We see how this is going, and frankly, are too excited to keep them from you all any longer... the Fossil Mini Pins are now available as a pledge tier and add-on for all backers!
The Archaeopteryx, Tyrannosaurus, and Ammonite fossil mini pins are dyed soft enamel and measure about 0.75" each. Like our Devonian mini pin set, these lil' fellas will run you $18 for the set of all three. You're well on your way to an entire museum with this little collection!
Additionally, our (non-fossilized) Archaeopteryx, the Jurassic Poll winner, has received some shiny new artwork! Ultimately we opted for this pose to better show off its bright and colorful parrot plumage, inspired by old school depictions of the creature.
π¬ Aquatic Poll Vote!
Don't forget to pitch your vote for our aquatic animal stretch goal! The winner will be decided and made into a pin this Saturday, so share your thoughts now if you've got 'em.
Additionally, we've had requests to add the OG Paleo Pals pins to this campaign's lineup, and more likely than not we'll have those available in the survey as an add-on! If you absolutely cannot wait for some little dinos in your ranks, we have the first campaign's leftovers available on the Toadstown Etsy. We'll have the shakers up as soon as possible, too!
That's all for now, we'll catch you all as updates come!
Hello, Paleo Pals, returning and new! Once again, you all never fail to sweep us off our feet; Paleo Pals: Series 2 was totally funded within the first hour!! You guys are absolutely incredible, and we owe this amazing launch to you all!
But the journey is far from over... you folks have already crushed the first three stretch goals, and are swiftly approaching our fourth: The AQUATIC vote! We need your help to make the best pins possible, so make sure to cast your vote below.
π¦ Jurassic Era Champion
We hear you all loud and clear - MORE feathers! Archaeopteryx has won the Jurassic vote by a wide margin, and we're hoping to make this pin a complimentary piece to the Microraptor already in the lineup.
Recent studies have found that Archaeopteryx likely bore a predominantly matte-black plumage. But, in an effort to help this guy stand out from the Microraptor pin, we'll be designing this guy with colorful plumage, harkening back to more "retro" Archaeopteryx reconstructions, with warm, parrot-inspired coloration.
Here's a couple sketches while we work on finalizing the colors, if you have a preference, feel free to shout it out:
π¬ Aquatic Creature Poll
Since it's the next in line for unlock, cast your vote for what aquatic all-timer makes it to the final lineup! We tried to include a diverse range of critters, from the mighty Kronosaurus, to some personal favorite Cambrian weirdos like the Tully Monster.
Vote below for what animal you want to see represent the prehistoric seas! What's YOUR favorite aquatic beastie?
Thanks all for a phenomenal launch, we'll be back soon with updates as they come! While you're here, be sure to check out the other awesome creators contributing to Super League of Science, there's plenty more prehistoric campaigns to pledge to ;)
