MEMENTO MORI IS RECOMMENDED FOR MATURE AUDIENCES
An actual photo of the Memento Mori books
Memento Mori, the folk-horror roleplaying game set in Europe in 1347 and ENNIE Award nominee for Best Rules and Product of the Year 2025, is back with a brand new campaign book: The Old City.
The Black Death is exacting its toll on Europe, and it will quickly exterminate a third of the population. The characters are a group of Drifters, infected people who come in contact with dark creatures from folklore due to their condition. With every new horror they experience, the characters will become ever less human and increasingly similar to the creatures they are fighting.
Only the Dream burning within them can keep them alive. What will they sacrifice for it?

In the Winter of 1348, Italy is shivering with the slow, relentless advance of the plague, which recently made its way into Florence. A few days ride to the south-east, stands Orvieto, Urbs Vetus, the Old City.
After diving in millennia-old tunnels and wells, the Drifters venture into a tangle of alleys haunted by otherwordly creatures, and make their way through sacrilegious celebrations and ancient pagan rites. They follow an Omen about families at war, templar orders, and horrors buried beneath the knoll.
The Old City is a brand new campaign book, with new opponente and new characters beautifully illustrated by Francesco Biagini, that will guide players to the darkened heart of Memento Mori, where the Drifters’ Dream is the only light shining over the final moments before the end.
In addition to the the campaign book we will produce an an amazing historical map of the Urbs Vetus (Orvieto) made by our talented friend Fabio Porfidia, who many of you already know for the Household maps!
The Old City and the Map of Urbs Vetus
All our returning backers, and all the Early Bird that will pledge at a physical level in the first 48 hours, will receive a free metal coin.
Memento Mori has an original game system created to highlight the process of corruption and transformation undergone by the characters.
The system uses two pools of six-sided dice distinguished by color. White dice represent the human skills of Drifters, while black dice represent the supernatural powers and monstrous features that they develop.
The Drifter Sheet
When rolling dice, the Players’ objective is to roll as many 5 and 6 as possible in order to overcome the difficulty set by the Narrator. The powers developed during the Drifters’ adventure come at a steep price, because the Players are forced to choose a part of their character to sacrifice whenever the corruption grants them a new ability.
