THIS GAME IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. THE PAGE WILL BE UPDATED A LOT, FOLLOW FOR BETTER UPDATES.

THE GAME

The Fallen Blood is an upcoming tactical shooter based in 1950s New York City’s organized crime. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game features cinematic storytelling, unique gameplay mechanics and extra focus on historical accuracy. (sounds generic, but let us explain)

CONCEPT ART OF LUCIO

Experience the story of Lucio Di Salvo in a cinematic way through emulated film (8mm, 16mm & 35mm). Every weapon, character, location and piece of dialogue is researched to recreate the era.. not the Hollywood version of it, but the actual real world version of it.

This is our attempt to build a time machine to the 1950s Mafia.

Movies like The Godfather (1972) were shot entirely on 35mm film, which is what we emulate during gameplay. Cinematics change around the others, depending on the situation and mood.

William Kennedy Dickson's patent of his creation, the 35mm film.

The Fallen Blood is not just a game; it's a captivating immersion into the rich world of organized crime in American history. Set in one of the richest post-war cities, players will experience the thrill of rise and fall of a young man bound by blood, fighting the rivals and experiencing betrayal.

The game is a rare mixture of cinematic storytelling, slow and disturbing gameplay as well as historical accuracy.

We love Mafia, The Godfather, Goodfellas and the films that defined the genre. But Mafia has become heavily romanticized.

That's why we ask: what happens when we take away the Hollywood filter?
No untouchable gangster fantasy. No effortless gunplay. No glamorous version of organized crime.
Just the unfortunate truth of violence, paranoia, loyalty, betrayal and consequences.

The Fallen Blood isn't trying to appeal to everyone, and that's okay.
For niche players and history nerds like us, this could be one of the first games to truly explore this side of the Mafia.

CORE PILLARS

  • Historical Accuracy: Every aspect of the project from authentic weapon reconstruction, real clothing from the time and rebuilding locations from the city exactly how they were, is filled in historical accuracy, while providing an engaging story and unique gameplay. We are history nerds, and this is one of the, if not the most important aspect of the game.

Recreation of the M1911A1, one of the most popular handguns of the 50s mafia. Created by our team's talented 3D artist.

  • Immersive Gameplay: We aren’t creating a fast-paced industry standard. We are creating a unique game, what we want, and what similar niche players want. The Fallen Blood is deliberately slow, tense and sometimes brutally difficult. One mistake can be enough.
The goal isn't to make you feel powerful. It's to make you feel human and realisically vunerable... but it helps with the ultimate goal to reconstruct a mafioso's life in the time period, instead of telling a Hollywoodized and simplified story.

  • Cinematic Storytelling: Our team has spent years of research into what makes a game (or any form of media) cinematic, and how to tell a story. Camera placement, dialogue, sound, lighting, post-processing and physical film characteristics are all carefully considered to create a cinematic experience that feels intentional rather than simply “gamey”

  • Psychological Horror: This is not a power fantasy.
Lucio isn't an unstoppable gangster who walks away from every gunfight without a second thought. Violence has consequences, and the things he experiences leave a mark on him.
TFB explores Lucio's deteriorating mental state through paranoia, trauma and distorted perceptions. Paranoia is central. You won't always know what's real, who you can trust, or whether what you're seeing is actually happening. Sometimes, you won't know what's reality...and what's simply the product of his mind.

GAMEPLAY

The Fallen Blood is a narrative-driven first-person shooter set in the dark, immersive world of 1950s New York’s organized crime. Inspired by historical events and classic mafia media, the game focuses on story, atmosphere, and player choice.

Gameplay INSPIRATION. Game called Bodycam uses similiar graphics and gameplay features as us. Video credit to AdamgamesCZ. We will update with own footage when acceptable.

Free Aiming & Realistic Combat
Combat uses a full free-aim system with unrestricted hand movement, giving players precise control over every shot. Weapons feel heavy and deliberate, ammo is limited, and stamina, weapon handling, and resource management are all factors you must consider. Every encounter is slow, tense, and realistic, with no room for errors.

Stress & Adrenaline
The Stress System dynamically reacts to what Lucio experiences. Gunfire, injuries, nearby deaths and intense situations can push his adrenaline higher, affecting his breathing, aim, movement and weapon handling.
Under extreme stress, even simple actions can become difficult. Reloads can become slower. Hands can shake. Mistakes can happen.
The more pressure you're under, the harder it becomes to stay in control. We have studied countless of hours of real bodycam and war combat videos of firefight, and how people react, think and process in those extreme situatioins, and copied it into the game.

Varied Missions & Stealth Options
Not every problem needs a firefight.
Missions can range from chaotic shootouts to carefully planned assassinations and quiet infiltrations. How you approach a situation is up to you, but every approach comes with its own risks. Experience a mix of gameplay styles: intense full-blown shootouts and quiet, calculated assassination missions. Each scenario challenges you to think strategically and plan carefully before acting.

Die and Retry Approach
Mistakes have consequences.
Rushing into a room, exposing yourself to enemy fire or misjudging a situation can quickly end your life. TFB rewards observation, preparation and careful execution, not reckless aggression.

Sound Design & Immersion
Sound plays a critical role in survival. Footsteps, weapon handling, and environmental noises can reveal your position or alert enemies, making every action meaningful. But that can work both ways, so listen carefully. We go so far in the immersion, that we record real weapon sound effects at a gun range, using professional equipment and as accurate replicas of the weapons as possible.

Cinematic & Artistic Presentation
The visual style features physical film emulation, vintage screen noise and slight chromatic aberration, creating a cinematic, time-warped feel without distracting from gameplay. Our film effects are based on the physical characteristics of real film formats, studied to recreate their imperfections rather than simply applying a generic “film filter”.

Story-Driven Narrative
Every mission pushes Lucio's story forward. Choices, actions and consequences shape his journey through the criminal underworld, with the line between ambition, loyalty and survival constantly shifting.

Nightmare Gameplay
Relive Lucio’s most traumatic and shapeshifting moments in terrifying detail. These sequences pause time and put you in the middle of extreme situations where violence is the only way to survive and get time moving. Sound, lighting, distortions heighten fear, and the black water around reflect Lucio’s inner descent into paranoia and madness.

With these gameplay features, The Fallen Blood aims to reveal the harsh realities of organized crime and bring history to life in an authentic, immersive way. We want players to experience the tension, strategy, and consequences of life in the 1950s mafia world and not a stylized or glorified version, but a true-to-era reflection of ambition, loyalty, and betrayal. Every weapon, mission, and decision is designed to immerse players in the human cost of crime and the complex reality of history.

This is not a power fantasy.

It's a story about what happens when an ordinary man gets pulled too far into a world he may never escape.
The Fallen Blood is our attempt to build a time machine to the 1950s Mafia. From history nerds to history nerds:)
