[0011] Production! Patches! Stickers! And info behind early access PDF

Early Access PDF


First and foremost, the reason why the early access wasn't sent is because we (as in MM25 participants) weren't too aware on how file distribution was going to be, I thought it was going to be each on their own project but turns out it's a bit more nuanced than that, I could've maybe done with through itch but BK strongly suggested doing it through the main pledge manager. This last part is recent info, and the main content is so close to being done that I'd rather just wait until it's done and distribute it.

Production

The Cross-Collab reward, DO NOT REMOVE, is already printing (and I'll see to distribute them soon)!

As for the rest, I was waiting for the preorder store to close to have clearer numbers before entering production, Tar Pit Protocol is done and 3pp license has been approved, Lucid Dreaming Zine is on it's last stages, it was waiting for the names you sent, I already got them and some of them fit so perfectly into some descriptions I already had!

Love how they came out, ironing them on is recommended since the antennas could be annoying to deal with otherwise

Stickers

First batch, 3/9 stickers


First batch of stickers already in production, I have bad news about Weist, Plasma (who's the graffiti artist wrangler) told me he didn't send much or anything :( I did promise 1 sticker per new artist that joined and this would leave us without one of those stickers.

HOWEVER!

To make up for this, I'll be making 3 new stickers in a holo/iridescent, in a very Y2K racing/tuning car scene style

[0010] Survey reminder!
Hey hey, this is just a small update to remind you:

Answer your surveys! Particularly if you're a Mall Founder or Mall Boss backer, we need your names! Once we go into production, there's no turning back!!

We will get our questions from the mega pledge manager down on June 1st. After that date, you won't be able to send us your name.

Mega Pledge Manager


So a few weeks ago the mega pledge manager got sent to everyone from TKG, in there you'll do everything MM25 related, including answering questions for every single project you pledged for. That includes Lucid Dreaming, if you pledged at Mall Boss or Mall Founder pledge levels, please go ahead and send your names, if we enter production and you haven't sent your name yet, it's impossible for it to make it, maybe on digital, but if you want your name on your printed Lucid Dreaming PLEASE answer asap.

We are going to start production by mid may, you have until then!

April Progress

This month was way too hectic for me to do anything significant, I'm better from the sickness I went through (which I was even tested for tuberculosis, and I'm still recovering from some muscle chest pain), I'm gonna move (wasn't planning but the following will explain why), I'm gonna get married (nothing big yet but the paperwork of a foreigner to do this is insane), so yeah, I did open the project a few times and was doing my best to get it to an early-access-ready state (which idk what that means) but ultimately couldn't get more than 5h this month.

May looks, at least, healthier, that's a lot of downtime I won't have to deal with. 

Plasma still needs to send me and specify which art is going for stickers, lotoelote was doing some fixes on the patch design, as soon as those are up, production will start on that end.

Will try and send another update in May once we start production or get something in hand

[0008] March update! A quick one, to the point. MEGAPLEDGE MANAGER!
Heyo!

Mega Pledge Manager

First, the mega pledge manager is out now, that also contains the preorder store so you can get our stuff if you missed it! The PDF, physical, Tar Pit Protocol and stickers!

The rest of the update

In march we made nice progress with the art, however, the artist had some family issues and I spent like a week and a half being nothing but a machine that consumes anti-flu medicine and nothing else. Lucky for me, that time happened as I was waiting for revisions to be made.

Character artist is doing some work on the patch now that the patch place finally sent us a preview.

I wanted to release the full PDF before April, forgetting that I needed names from some you and the mega pledge didn't go out until last week.

I'm gonna be sending the main PDF Early Access soon as promised.

Also will start working trifold's art and design soon, as the content has been done for a while now.

I'm still not fully out of anti-flu medicine consumption machine mode, but at least it's just an annoying, debilitating cough now, my ribs hurt every time I cough but oh well, almost healed now!

[0007] February Update: More art and more news on PDFs
February went by kinda quick, with the whole it having 28 days thing and all.

Art

This update's quick and simple, most of the graffiti art is done! We are going through some revisions, the LD sticker design is also done (will add it to backer only content), and the patch design is getting some revisions as well!

PDF

The PDF feels so close to done that I've been wanting to hold it a bit longer before sending it, however, if by the last week of March I'm still not done, I'll send it, to adhere to the Q1 promise!

The backend is also getting some cool backgrounds as well

[0006] Jan update! Art n' PDF
Happy new year! (even tho January is almost over (finally))

Art

We just got sketches from the graffiti artists! I'm gonna send this on the exclusive content for backers just because of how early they are, I've already sent feedback, you can see how some are even on a notebook first before going digital, that's how you know how OG they are.

Our character designer is learning pixel art and made this cute (ANIMATED) LD!

Early Access PDF was set for Q1, that one's coming soon, as you can see on the previews on the backer exclusive pic, pages are practically done, there are so few things missing that I could even send it right now as it (but give me a bit longer to at least input the 1d100 random search table in the back)

Corporate’s grand vision for Prospero’s Mall & Outlet came from a faulty old AI. And Lucid-AR was the result: a glorified, expensive workaround for holograms; running on a brittle, inexperienced, code-generated backend. It was doomed from the start.

Hackers exploited it until the whole thing went rogue, taking a life of its own and  has been consuming it all ever since: stores, hallways, even visitors. The rumors of holo-horrors trapping people in liminal spaces, killed the mall for good.

Yet, such infrastructure is a place of dreams for street crews—skaters, BMX, rollerbladers, graffiti. That's why some sectors are being taken over by such crews, fending off the rogue AR tech, inadvertently keeping it from escaping its containment in this mall.

What can you find inside Lucid Dreaming?

Lucid Dreaming is structured to be a place rather than a set adventure, a sandbox that your players can explore and where different types of stories can develop. It also has an overarching doomsday clock, ticking away and affecting every corner of the mall.

So with this in mind, here's what to expect:

  • 8 different zones built on the ruins of the mall. Each with hooks, tension clocks, "at a glance" descriptions, and how Lucid-AR manifests in there, as well as a little "Now Playing..." widget to set the mood with some tunes!
    • Zone Tension Clocks. The chaos spreads, failure and stress stimulates it to keep consuming
    • Lucid-AR present, it's not all that bad, some of it manifests as illusions or echoes of the past, but be careful when interacting with it.
  • Lucid-AR spreads. Careful when coming into contact with this rogue tech, it can be dangerous and you could end up making it spread further, even putting in danger members of the crew
  • 5 street crews, each with their area of expertise—Breakdancing, skating, bmx, hip hop and rollerblading. (Non-violent) ways to earn rep, hooks and roll tables. Each with custom made graffiti made by Colombian graffiti artists!
  • 1 new AR Horror to mess with your player's reality, trap them in infinite hallways, recreate deep memories, make them explore liminal places, or even take them on a completely different adventure from there!
  • Bunch of rollable tables!
