🧸 Here for the plushies, probably! Never, ever can have too many plushies 🧸
I DO have too many enamel pins and oracle decks, but somehow keep ending up making room for more, lmao. Plus, digital-tier TTRPGs don't require /any/ room (outside of hard drive memory) >;D
.... All that being said, I'm now getting better at pledging for just one or two stickers/pins/plushies.
I also discovered ouji fashion [masc version of the J-fashion EGL style] on here, so I've begun to support some of those campaigns as well!
Some current, upcoming, and further-in-the-future plushie campaigns I'm supporting (as of 5/15/26):
Current:
° Circus Sweeties Series 2 by Charmsey (May-June 2026) - very cute animal cracker themed plushies + swag! Most are pastel but usually a darker colorway or two shows up ^-^
Upcoming:
° Varmintfeathers' De-Extinction Lab Series 2 by Varmintfeathers (June 2026)- soft and realistic-ish dinos, paleomammals, and even some Holocene-era extinct cuties! They look like what you'd find in a zoo giftshop.
° Feathered Fox Plush - Series 2 by Feathered Fox Den (July 2026)- Even more beautiful bird inspired fox plush and some other unique winged foxes!
° Bedtime Bestiary by McMadmissile (July 2026)
° Sugarbell Pals Series 4 by SugaryCarousel (August 2026)
Further-in-the-Future:
° Deadweights - Creepy Cute Weighted Plush by Lairbrew (September 2026)
° Disability Pride Creatures Series 2 by Hannimations (November 2026)
° Very Huggable Softies Series 2 by Jupy (TBA)
Unknown:
(Various campaigns which did not fund on the first attempt, but that their creators are reworking and for which I'm waiting on a relaunch announcement. Includes non-plushie projects- I need a place to list them so I don't forget.
° Ancient Artists by Mistyfigs (pin campaign)
° Anxious Cheetah and Emotional Support Puppy by snapling (small plushies + swag)

I'm autistic and Backerkit in general has become one of my special interests at this point! I love getting to see the intricacies of stretch goal projections, participation in prototyping discussions, joking with fellow backers about which plushie design is the most ~valid~, etc!
I often do my best to answer common questions other backers may ask (always clarifying I'm not the project creator, and linking to the source when I can). But if this ever creates any issues, please let me know ASAP!

Here be the Section of Sadness 😔
I'm also here because I strongly agree with Backerkit's anti-genAI policy. I just wish they'd extend it to the written aspects of campaigns, such as intro pages and updates. ChatGPT & other LLMs are genAI too. Using them is just as scummy and unnecessary and plagiarizing and environment-damaging as using image generators. (I say this as someone whose own creative work has been scraped and incorporated into LLMs without my consent.)
Many times now, I have excitedly checked out an upcoming or recently launched project... only to end up having to press the back button when the very obvious hallmarks of genAI slop make it clear the creator cares so little about their own project that they didn't even write their own intro post or campaign page.
Why should I, as a prospective backer, take the time to read something that the creator themself couldn't be bothered to write?! Why should I pledge to such a campaign, when dozens and dozens of other creators run campaigns full of amazing art/writing, using authentic & detailed communication full of their actual thoughts, feelings, ideas, and experiences?
Why should I give my money to a creator and trust that they'll see a project through to completion over multiple months or years... if they don't even want to put in the comparatively miniscule effort to write a campaign page?!?!
All projects that feature genAI text in any capacity (including comments from the creator in response to backers) get added to my personal "do not back" list. Any future projects from those creators will likewise end up on my list. I don't care how cool/cute/human-drawn such creators' actual plushies (pins, games etc) are: use of genAI text = my instant and permanent disdain.
As for the creators of campaigns which use genAI to produce misleading "prototype images"? I don't understand why, or even how, they're on this site at all. I've had to report such a campaign to Trust & Safety before. I really hope I won't need to do that again! (Please note that I don't mean the regular, non-genAI type of mockups used for many years which place an artist's design onto the shape of the eventual product such as a t-shirt, blanket, etc.)
In the most the polite way possible: several other crowdfunding sites' polices and general backer pool are a far better fit for you/them than the explicitly anti-genAI crowdfunding site. Please, go elsewhere than here.
(Thankfully, the vast majority of creators here fully adhere to Backerkit's policy and vehemently support NOT using genAI 💛💛💛)
