I am a 44-year gaming veteran. I started with the Red Box D&D in 1982 and moved into 1st Edition shortly thereafter. I've played many a game and my bookshelves (and bank account) show proof therein. Name a game and I either own it or have played it at some time in the past.
My all-time favorite game is D&D (3.0/3.5). I don't get into the flame wars on which edition is better, which edition had the better mechanics, etc., etc. I play the version I prefer, and I don't knock anyone who prefers a different edition. Will I play other editions, yes, most definitely, and I have (except 4e - I've yet to find anyone who still plays this edition).
Other favorites include PEG's Deadlands, West End Games Star Wars and GDW's Twilight 2000 (though I really love Free Leagues new take on it!).
