I was 13 months old in March of 1967 when I watched the Star Trek Original Series episode ARENA where Captain Kirk fought the Gorn. We were living in urban New Jersey and the Magnavox TV got poor reception due to overpassing aircraft and the elevated trains. My Dad is the Engineer Scott of analog tech and recycled aluminum foil to attach the rabbit ear antenna atop the TV up to the overhead steel water pipe and thus, perfect perception. I was hooked right there and have been a lifelong TREK fan watching the franchise alter over the decades to appeal to wider and wider demographic groups.
Like many lifelong fans, I was inspired by STAR TREK to hone my own literary and artistic abilities and now I run the one-man production machine known as Gotham Filmwerks. You can find my video productions on the Gotham Filmwerks channel of YouTube or see everything categorized by genre on my official website, www.gothamfilmwerks.com.
It is fantastic to have lived long enough to see STAR TREK take so many different forms on TV, film, comic books, computer games, Fan Films, etc. Even better to now have the opportunity to attain studio sized models of the Starships themselves. I have both a Master Replicas Enterprise and also built my own 350 Scale Polar Lights Enterprise complete with lighting kits. Now to have the opportunity to back the limited-production of the Klingon D7 Battlecruiser will make a terrific addition to my collection. I am awaiting the Enterprise Refit which is to arrive in November and there is already places cleared out in the bedroom and living room to display these iconic models along side others I've scratch-built myself. To fans new and classic, Peace and Long Life to you all. As Gene Roddenberry said, "For us...No Limits!"
