Russell Targove

Born and raised in Queens, New York,  Russell's exposure to the Cultural Diversity has given him the ability to reach and appeal to people from all Nationalities and Ages.  Music is the Universal Language, and Russell respectfully knows what music is appropriate and appreciated at any given time.  
He grew up listening to a wide range of musical styles, inspired by his Mother and Grandmother. With a knowledge of music ranging as far as the 1920's, Russell found the voices he was most impressed by. 
Through the Years, artists Mario Lanza, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Frankie Valli, Johnny Maestro, Jackie Wilson, Stevie Wonder and Luther Vandross were most influential.   It was Tony Orlando and Paul Anka who Russell felt commanded the stage and best connected with their audiences, live in concert, and that was most appealing. Russell has captured elements from his most influential performers and provides a dynamic, charismatic approach to his live events.  Accompanied by his nearly Four Octave Vocal Range, is what makes him so fascinating to watch and listen to.  
From New York to California, Vegas to Atlantic City, Milwaukee to Miami, Russell has proudly provided his professional entertainment services for an impressive array of clients, including Resorts World Casino, The New York Rangers Hockey Team, The New York Mets, WB Ch 11 TV Network, Fox Television, Lifetime TV,  Victoria’s Secret, Psychic Medium John Edward, and the US Postal Service, to name a few.  Whether at a huge Corporate Event, elaborate Bar/Bat Mitzvah or Elegant Wedding, Russell has been a hugely successful and in highly requested entertainer for over 25 Years.
Russell is best known for hosting his weekly Karaoke Show at King Yum Chinese Polynesian Restaurant, which was known as 'the best and longest running karaoke show, in New York City, from 1992 until 2016.  His masterful at catering to audiences of every age group and cultural background.  Truly a ‘family friendly experience’. One that brings back some wonderful, lasting memories, while creating new ones.  Russell is also one half of the Singing Duo, 'The Real Deal', along with Mike Jones. Together, Mike & Russell perform some of the greatest songs from the 1950's to the Present, from Classic Soul, Motown, R & B, Disco and Doo Wop.The Real Deal enjoys singing for an audience that likes to listen and also likes to get up and dance.   These songs are addictive, and the fun is contagious. 
Russell is also a Songwriter, and has written and Produced over 100 songs for various clients, including Individual Artists, Record Companies, NonProfit Organizations, Film and Media Companies. Russell’s creativity expands into other types of art.   Since attending High School of Art & Design,  he has honed his skills, and creates his own style of art. Whether a Realistic Portrait in Acrylic for Steiner Sports, or a custom designed cake for The New York Mets, Russell aims to please, in every medium.
