Garran Rook made his living repairing what other folk threw away. Locks, lanterns, traps, tools, weapons—if it had gears, hinges, springs, or screws, Garran could usually coax a few more years from it.
That talent made him useful.
Curiosity made him a Crow.
Garran has an unfortunate habit of opening doors better left locked and taking apart things whose workings sensible people would rather not understand. His pack is consequently stuffed with tools, wire, spare parts, bits of machinery and peculiar objects he's convinced will become useful eventually.
Usually he's right.
He isn't the strongest warrior on the road, nor the wisest. But when a bridge won't lower, a lock won't turn, a trap blocks the way, or some forgotten contraption begins making an ominous clicking noise, everyone eventually looks at Garran.
He sighs, puts down his pack, and reaches for his tools.
After all, something made it. That means something can unmake it.
