AJ Pickett is a New Zealand-based illustrator, sculptor, TTRPG designer, writer, and content creator who pioneered in-depth D&D lore videos. On his YouTube channel AJ Pickett, he has produced hundreds of detailed monster ecology, Forgotten Realms, and classic D&D setting videos that have helped popularize deep lore content for the community.
He designed the popular Big Pockets silicone battlemats and Mood Dice, served as lore consultant for Tuque Games’ Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, and is the creator of the rules-light game Super Atomic RPG. He has contributed to numerous published sourcebooks including the Through the Veil series (such as Monsters of the Feywild), Legends of Frozenfar: An Icewind Dale Player’s Companion, The Quintessential Guide to Monster Encounters, The Rifter (Palladium Books), and various other third-party supplements.
