As Hell’s Chosen, the Infernals command strange, alien powers never meant for mortals. The Charms and magics of all the Exalted are strange and wondrous, of course, but Infernal power is all the stranger: summoning a bounty of candied locusts to feed the hungry, wreathing their blades with infectious flame, or granting the wishes of those who catch their fancy in a wind of silver sand and blue petals. At the height of their powers, they can undertake Devil-Body Apotheosis, their human shells cracking like an egg to reveal a burgeoning god-monster within.
If the Yozis cannot have Creation then they will break it. Each Infernal emerges from their Exaltation with a terrible grievance against the world — and suddenly, the power to redress it.
Infernals: Crowned by Hellfire is an expansion for the ExaltedThird Edition tabletop roleplaying game. It’s set in a mythic world where spirits walk openly among humanity, warring demigods topple kingdoms, and the restless dead roam on moonless nights. ThisInfernals: Crowned by Hellfire sourcebook provides everything players and Storytellers need to introduce the Infernals to their story.
Chosen for their spite and grievance, the Infernal Exalted command the alien powers of Hell itself. The Infernals: Crowned by Hellfire deluxe edition will be an 8.5” x 11” hardcover book, featuring an enhanced foil-stamped cover with 300+ full-color interior pages and a ribbon bookmark. This book will be a worthy companion to previous Exalted Third Edition expansions, such as Dragon-Blooded: What Fire Has Wrought, Lunars: Fangs at the Gate, Exigents: Out of the Ashes, and the other Exalted Third Edition deluxe editions. Contents include:
Chapter One: The Infernal Exalted introduces the Infernals and describes the process of their Exaltation, from selection to grotesque rebirth to their coronation in Hell.
Chapter Two: The Demon Realm explores the Hell that is the Demon Realm — the city of Malfeas and the vast desert of Cecelyne which surrounds it. It describes the realm and its demonic inhabitants, but also touches on the role of infernalism and demon-worship in Creation, providing players with a glimpse at Hell’s insidious reach into the world of mortals.
Chapter Three: Character Creation provides rules for creating Infernal player characters and details the Infernal Castes and provides rules for the Great Curse and the alien majesty of Devil-Body Apotheosis.
Chapter Four: Charms reveals the strange and miraculous powers of the Infernal Exalted, by which they may reshape Hell and Creation alike in their own image.
Chapter Five: Martial Arts and Sorcery presents a new martial art for Infernal stylists, initiations from Hell’s sorcerous teachers, and a selection of spells across all three circles — but especially the Solar Circle, offering the Infernal Host access to world-shaking sorcery that remakes cities, raises wandering islands, conjures demonic armies, and more.
Chapter Six: Artifacts offers a selection of devilish artifacts fit for the treasure-houses of the Infernal Exalted.
Chapter Seven: The Roll of Infernal Personages offers an array of characters who might serve as allies and antagonists, focusing on demons of all three circles.
The primary purpose behind this Crowdfunding campaign is to enable Onyx Path to create a fully-developed PDF and deluxe hardcover version of Infernals: Crowned by Hellfire. Your support will allow Onyx Path to produce a deluxe hardcover edition for Crowdfunding backers, as well as a PDF and eventual Print-on-Demand standard edition released for purchase.
Exceptional funding may allow the Infernals team to expand and further explore various aspects of the game, from additional locations and secrets of the Demon Realm to more Charms and artifacts. Additional support will provide Onyx Path with inspiration and resources to unlock even more reward options!
Beyond those campaign-specific goals, the hope is to do what these games have always done — build a community invested in each other's stories and shared imagination. Every person who participates is joining with the goal of bringing this game into the world, and that common goal is a powerful spark that can fuel many great things! PRODUCTION TIMELINE: Despite having a robust written draft and some of the artwork and design already completed, the game will take time to produce. We're aiming to have the first Backer PDF out to supporters by February 2027, and the deluxe hardcover book out to backers by February 2028. We hope to deliver before these dates, but are aware of the challenges that may arise during production, so have attempted to incorporate some flexibility in the schedule. We will keep you notified of the progress on these rewards through regular BackerKit updates each month, and via the Onyx Path website.
All participants who would like to make this project happen can pledge their support and add to the overall campaign total. Shipping has become increasingly expensive and is often prohibitive to non-US backers. Several contemporary publishers have decided to discontinue international shipping completely. For this project, Onyx Path wants to keep all options open to our customers, though shipping costs will reflect the expense.

Again, we will be charging the actual costs via our BackerKit pledge manager once the books are preparing to ship. Look into a freight forwarding service that can give you a US-based shipping address and get packages delivered to it and forwarded to you.
After the campaign is over we'll launch our Pledge Manager and invite the backers to set up their rewards via survey. This allows you to confirm your pledge and add on anything that you might have missed, as well as possibly increasing your pledged reward tier, should you choose to expand your reward selection. Funding collected by BackerKit after the crowdfunding campaign does not count toward any campaign Stretch Goals, however.
