A fourth expansion to the Short Circuit 'verse, adding a whole new Unit Line of eerie printed circuit board (PCB) style enamel pins with robot characters to match!
If enough bot-boards come home with you, you never know what might follow! Lots of Blood attracts corpse flies, after all. The above mini pins are a token of my appreciation for your assistance in bringing these oddballs online, and additional units can be acquired via add-on purchase.
Welcome to Spectral Circuit, release 1.3 to the Short Circuit 'verse! Don't mind the persistent hiss of CRT static or the whirring and clicking just beyond the tree line, I'm sure the latest designs are completely up to code.
This series is called Short Circuit as these little robots don't quite function as intended, but they put their whole electronic hearts into their tasks regardless.
So far the collection includes 36bot-boards (printed circuit board designs produced as enamel pins and other items: there are currently 42 pins including all variants) and 11 robot designs. Conceptually, the bot-board pins function as personality chips for the robots!
The Blood Line features the same hard opaque x clear soft enamel hybridization as the previous units, and further adds a new dimension to the Short Circuit bot-boards: literally, via layering known in pins as "second metal".
Having trouble getting some good shut eye as the season changes? Perhaps you'd like to try counting sheep --
Hardware, a small sheep bot board (1.25"), matches the beautiful soft(ware) sheep by CritCreations! Their Pintober project is Limbo of Dreams, a set of gorgeous pins all about sleep disorders.
Back both campaigns at a physical reward tier to receive both of these dreamy little guys, which can be arranged to jump around each other as shown! Click on the banner above to check out their project.
Up for a round of trick-or-treating before you settle in? Back 3 or more Pintober projects and receive a spooky goodie from each! Spectral Circuit's treat is a 1" rainbow anodized Gummy Worm in the pantones of Unit Line: Void. Tasty! No, of course it didn't wriggle when you swallowed it, you must be imagining things.
Interested in customizing your pledge? In the Add-On section you'll find all the Spectral Circuit items available to purchase one by one, so you can adjust your order as the campaign progresses while still taking advantage of pledge tier discounts. For Add-Ons with multiple choices, selection of which designs you'd like to claim will occur post-campaign via backer survey.
Shipping will be charged after the campaign ends as part of the Backerkit survey. Please note that the pledge amount during the campaign does not include shipping cost.
The following prices are general estimates based on packages up to 100 grams (a few pins) to packages around 500 grams (lots of pins). Actual shipping costs will be based on your specific location and the final package weight of your order.
Rewards will be shipped from the Netherlands. Backers are responsible for any customs fees, tariffs, or taxes that may be charged once your order enters your country. No refunds or replacements will be issued if your package is returned to sender or lost due to unpaid fees.
Shipments to the US are currently planned to be fulfilled DDP (Delivery Duties Paid), so tariffs will be paid up front with your other shipping costs and there should be no surprises at the door!
Custom fees and tariffs will be a % of the physical value of your order total. Every pin, sticker, and patch purchase is bundled with a digital artwork file featuring that design! This is valued at €10 for pin and patch artwork and €6 for sticker artwork, meaning the physical value of these items for shipment purposes will be less that amount.
The following timeline is an estimate based on the process of my previous projects. Any deviations from this projection will be communicated via updates in the Community tab and emails sent out to backers!
Despite my fascination with robots, I use absolutely no generative "AI" in any part of my workflow. All of the artwork, designs, graphics, and text present in my campaigns is primarily the work of one (1) creature hunched over a tablet, sketching, painting, vectoring, and writing.
Electronic intelligences in fiction have long resonated with me for their not-quite-human qualities and struggles to behave as expected. Gen"AI" is an affront to the very concept, large scale theft, and environmentally destructive.
Thank you for supporting artists in these messy times! We appreciate it beyond description.
My name is Anya, also known to various fandom and online spaces as "Chinny" and "CZGoldEdition". I'm a full-time freelance artist raised in Appalachia and living in the Netherlands. Designing funky guys and raising the funds to manufacturer them via Backerkit has absolutely changed the way that I work for the better, and allowed me to contribute more to my queer little family!
This is my fourth Backerkit campaign, with two completely fulfilled and the third currently in early fulfillment. My visa is based on my small business and I'm extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work in this way.
Backerkit is a crowdfunding platform that empowers you to help make ideas into reality! It functions as a sort of pre-order, allowing creators to gather the funds needed to produce items that are in turn sent along to the backers of their campaigns.
You won't be charged until the campaign ends. If you need to lower or cancel your pledge later, you can do so any time before pledges are processed to avoid being charged.
Designs will be unlocked as stretch goals are hit, meaning they have been fully funded and will be put into production at the conclusion of the campaign! Pledge with whatever designs you’d like in mind to increase its odds of being unlocked, and then check back before the campaign ends to adjust if a design you wanted was not reached.
Surveys will be sent out after the campaign’s conclusion for you to pick which designs you would like. Once finalized you can continue to edit your order via Backerkit until orders are locked.
Updates on production and fulfillment will be sent to your Backerkit email and posted in the Community tab on the campaign page.
Crowdfunding as part of a collaborative event such as Pintober is always a delight, and I'd love to share with you a few favorites that I'm mighty tempted to back myself! All manner of creatures and existential quips await if you click on the banners below.
