Influenced by the unbridled adventure of old pulp movies and the fantastical flair of tokusatsu, this film is a wild ride through a world where the extraordinary collides with the intimate. For years, I've been drawn to the raw energy and untamed possibility of giant monsters - beings that defy the constraints of a human-centric world. In their monumental existence, there's a profound queerness; a giant monster can only ever be just that, a figure of awe and destruction, unable to conform to the world around it. "Bongo Banana" explores this concept in a pop-maximalist explosion of color, story, and emotion.

A mixed media feast drawing from the CGI heyday of the late '80s and early '90s, packed with shadowy organizations, giant gorillas, and uncharted islands. It's an adventure that's equal parts bizarre, beautiful, and bold.
